Just want to get the interest on how many D20 Modern players out there would support a RPGA sanction regular events similar to what is done with Living Spycraft?

Hello, Louis Porter, Jr.

I don't know about local groups or smaller regional conventions, but at Gencon SoCal this December d20 Modern was NOT represented by the RPGA. At least not a single RPGA session is listed in the con schedule book. There were I believe 5 d20 Future events for the RPGA, with at least one of those events being cancelled, (of course the one I wanted to get into).

I was interested in this to get the info for Justin of Blue Devil Games, so this will eventually get noted in my Gencon Report which I can't seem to finish. :\

This probably isn't what you guys are looking for, but The Game Mechanics have RPGA-sanctioned adventures.

Hope this helped more than not at all.

I saw this a while ago and that is what got me interested in doing this topic. If Game Mechanics is doing RPGA adventures: 1) Will they be doing more? 2) Will other 3rd party publishers get a chance and 3) Do people really want that?

It seems to me, any setting that is RPGA approved normally has a stong following and most importantly get support by way of more regular material out in books and such. I am sure those of us who like D20 Modern would like to keep supporting it and just like to get new sourcebooks, adventures and materials for it too.

Personally I would like to find a way to do similar to what the RPGA has done, but make it easier for all to do.

I posted a message on JD Wiker's boards and he said they are working on a "living style" campaign for D20 modern which will premerie at Winter Fantasy. What I'm *assuming* is that the RPGA will look at play numbers for these adventures and decide how many modules to *order* for the campaign. Right now the modules at WF are the only ones for the new campaign.

Well, winter fantasy is happening less than 2 miles from where I live...but I'm not an RPGA member. Might join just to play modern, if someone can tell me it's worth it.

Anything to support the game! ;)

If it makes a difference to your decision, Rich Redman (co-author of d20 Modern) wrote the first adventure (Slave Drivers), and I wrote the second (Flight 23).

As for whether or not we'll do more--yes. We have a third part of the mini-campaign planned, and if the mini-campaign itself is well-received, we'll no doubt do more.

And, as for whether or not the RPGA would be interested in other d20 Modern adventures/mini-campaigns, you could always ask them. That's how we got involved, after all.

I have tried to get out of Ian what is going to be announced at Winter Fantasy but he has been quite tight lipped. Like I said before, I am sure there are several of 3rd party d20 RPG publishers that would love to support a D20 Modern RPGA line.
