I'm not even sure what the product is. It looks like a d20 game, set in a modern setting, but I don't think it uses d20 Modern rules. Wow, how amazingly lame. Why would you come out with a d20 "modern" game, after d20 Modern rules came out, without using those rules (or at least pretending to use them a bit, or pretending they are "adaptable" to use for d20 Modern)?
Actually, I'm not even sure it is a d20 game, since they use "Strength, Agility, Intelligence, Perception, Willpower, and Stamina". Okay, obviously they are just using synonyms for d20 stats...but why? Did they not know the d20 license was free? Did they not think they would reach a bigger audience by using a d20-compatible game than yet another set of brand new rules for people to use?
They say "Be warned, this is not the pseudo-realistic world of D20 MODERN or the heroic adventures of James Bond, this is the gritty, violent world of Marvel Comics’ The Punisher or the motion picture Fight Club."
Are they kidding? Punisher comic, not pseudo-realistic? Fight club, not pseudo-realistic? They call THOSE their examples of "gritty"?
Wow, I really am trying to be non-negative here. I have nothing against this game, and truly support the efforts of anyone trying to get into any part of the RPG field. And yet, it looks like these guys could use someone with a bit more business-sense for marketing their products (despite the claim of a film option before the game was even released - which does sound like quite an accomplishment).
