247. A single demon says that it wants "redemption", and begs a PC paladin to convert him/her. (stolen from Sep's story hour)

248. A duke affiliated with the PCs becomes king after the entire royal family disappears. The only hitch is that everyone thinks that the duke killed the king and his family, so the duke hires the PCs to find out what happened to the king so he can clear his name.

249. The drow males rise up, reduce the females to third-class citizens, and start to conquer the underdark.

Um, blackshirt, aren't these pretty much the same?

188. A legendary artifact, the fabled Sword of Life, has fallen into the hands of a kindly paladin, who has figured out how to use it. Death is angry at the sleight(the Sword works by killing the servitors he sends to collect the souls of the dead) but dares not risk attacking the paladin himself, for fear of the consequences if he is slain by the pretty but naive young woman. Can the PCs convince her to give up the sword to restore the natural order?

226. The PCs are approached by an envoy of Death(or any major Death God in your campaign). A naive paladin has aquired the fabled Sword of Life, an artifact capable of slaying Death's servants when they come to claim the souls of the Dead(effectively casting a Resurrection spell). Death dares not confront the Paladin, as she's seen what her blade can do, and fears the repercussions should Death die, so she enlists the PCs to wrest the blade away from the Paladin and destroy it.

250. The PCs wake up to find time has stopped for everyone else. Problem is, time hasn't really stopped. It's that the party has been left behind by the stream of time. Can they get back in sync with the world?

All right, boys & girls, we're halfway there.

Hey, blackshirt5 - I agree with Steve Jung. You may want to re-submit a #226 cuz it's essentially the same as 188.

251. Children in several local villages are being born with bright green eyes, a feature that none of their parents possess.

(My PCs are just about to start investigating this one... *evil grin*)

252) Someone has recently opened a shop selling a device promised to correct any and all vision problems when worn. They recieve great word of mouth from everyone who goes in, even though many who have gone in have never reported any sort of vision issues before. Those who go in seem to exhibit strange behavior- leaving late at night, a slow errosion of their personalities, megalomaniacle tendencies (is that even a term?), etc... Further, one of the first customers is physically morphing as well now- their teeth are sharpening, and small bulbous growths are slowly emerging from the circumfrence of their scalp.

253) In a far off kingdom, it is said there is one who can control the weather. A small, inconspicuous being, but within him he carries the mightiest power of the gods. It is entirely by his whim that the seasons pass, the clouds rumble, and the rain falls. Once a year, he will judge the purity of the world, and give them either his blessing or his bane. If they are pure, he will bring the sun early and harvests will be bountiful. But if they are evil, he will prolong the biting cold of winter, and famine will ensue. Now, a group of radicals has kidnapped this tiny furred god, in hope of stealing his divine essence. The god escaped, but now his impression of man-kind is most sour. The adventurers must find him, and convince him of good in the world before he brings on ever lasting winter.

But first, they have to figure out which Groundhog is him.

254) A strange black murky oil-like substance has been spotted on the oceans. Dead marinelife has been drifting a shore in increasing numbers and a large number of ships has been lost at sea. Does the black substance have anything to do with it, or is there another more sinister force at work here?

255) Something extraordinairy has happened, recently everything caught outside during rain has had all magic disjuctioned. What has caused this bizarre phenomenon? And what will happen when in two weeks the monsoons arrive?

256) A young boy and girl stumbled upon the corpse of a dead creature. Through rumor the story spread until an adult hunted down the body, dug it out from under the bole of a fallen tree, and brought it back into town. There it caused a bit of a stir as some called the corpse's taking sacriligious, others called the corpse itself evil, but no matter what they called it no one in town could identify the creature. To resolve the matter, the local smithy burned it and that was that. Until the rain started to fall. And the dead started to live. Corpses rose from the graveyard. The wooden houses swayed as if alive. Any item made of unliving tissue found itself moving, lurking, into the night. Even cloth and thread. What foulness was this beast? That's for the PCs to answer.
