D&D Movie/TV DADHAT becomes Netflix Global Hit

Intersest doesn't pay the bill.

I'm talking cold hard cash people are willing to pay. How many subscribed to whatever specifically to watch HAT.

I'm gonna watch it on Netflix. It gets bundled with ISP. Presumably Netflix gets money from ISP regardless if I watch HAT or not.

Internet buzz is exactly that. Cold hard cash matters.

Some times interest shows the potential for cash later during a sequel, the first wets the appetites.

When it comes to streaming, it's difficult to rate the value of a movie or show, since it boils down to "did it help to bring in new subscribers" and "did it encourage current subscribers to renew?" Thus, a movie like Red Notice is considered a huge success, despite not making any direct profit at all.

Which is why there is talk of a HAT sequel, a movie that has continuously done well streaming (action comedies do particularly well streaming). Clearly, such a movie would be direct to streaming, and with a lower budget - but that's not a problem as the original production was inefficient.

Word on the street had already been that Netflix wanted to make a Baldur's Gate TV show after the game broke out. Wouldn't surprise me if Netflix ends up sliding in to take over working with Hasbro.

Hasbro has got some experience with Netflix because Transformers and MyLiPo cartoons were released there.

We don't know how is the partnership deal between Hasbro and Paramount and if this allow some D&D production by other companies.

The possible sequel of HaT will have to be only by Paramount but other title with a different group would be a different thing.

Some times in the past I wondered how would be Dragonlance produced by Disney. Now I wonder Dark Sun by Netflix.
