Damage Resistance by Weapon Type.

I'm looking for a little feedback from the group on rating the damage resistance properties for various classifications of D&D creatures vs. the 3 main weapon damage types - slashing, piercing and bludgeoning. This is a little different how D&D rates damage resistance now but I am looking to design a rule that is more in keeping with a lower-magic setting.

For example... a humanoid giant, due to it's mass, would be more resistant to bludgeoning damage than he would be to slashing damage. However, the same giant would likely be more vulnerable yet to piercing damage, as these weapons can more readily reach their vital organs.

What I'm looking for are the group's thoughts in these kinds of broad terms. Feel free to illustrate with examples (or in ratios) if you feel certain types of creatures are significantly more resitant to certain kinds of damage than others.

Also, take into account that size would also play a role in damage resistance, even change which kinds of weapons a creature may be vulnerable to. While a massive maul might splatter a small ooze across the room with relative ease, it might not be your best choice against a huge ooze that can absorb that kind of bludgeoning damage. But then, what would be...? Slashing? How effective would a piercing weapon be relative to the other kinds of weapons?

Here is the creature-type list I'm looking for some feedback on:

Ooze/Amorphous Creature, Tiny/Small
Ooze/Amorphous Creature, Medium/Large
