Damage type of extra damage?

Are there any generic rule for the damage type of extra damage?

Do extra damage have same damage type as the main damage?
Or unnamed damage unless otherwise noted?

For example, if a rogue makes a sneak attack with a (active) flaming weapon, what is the damage type of sneak attack extra damage? Fire? or Unnamed?

In the case of a Flaming weapon, I suspect the weapon's power turns all damage (including extra) into Fire damage.

In the more general case, I'd go with: if the power doesn't say, then it's just plain more of the same. For example, a weapon which deals extra dice of damage on a crit but doesn't mention any particular type, would do extra dice of whatever the base damage type was.

I'm not too sure about this. This would mean that if a Rogue used a power that dealt 1[W] fire damage, his sneak attack would suddenly change to fire damage to match, which somehow doesn't seem right.

I think that at least in the case of sneak attack/hunter's quarry/warlock's curse, the extra damage remains untyped.

If the ability adds to a damage roll, then the extra damage is always the same as the original roll.

If the ability says it deals extra damage, then if it doesn't give a damage type, it's the same as the original roll. If it does, it's the new damage type.
