Later, after making what he thought reasonable purchases for spelunking, Leonan looked in the tavern for the old dwarf that professed he knew something about deeper tunnels. After explaining the need, couching it in terms of crazy gnome, his machines and threat to the city, appealing to dwarven sense of community...

Heading to the city gate you pass through an entire city district which takes some time, this place could really use some short cuts what was the city planner thinking a round city without bridges across the center, arriving at the city gate you find something you where not expecting the door is about 6ft high and 3ft wide fitting lots of people or carts through with any haste would certainly be impossible. Sat at a small stone table next to the gate is a group of five dwarves four of them wearing the uniform of the city guard the other wearing simple leather tunic and pants combo the group appears to be playing a game of dice. The group hasn't noticed you yet they seem engrossed within their gambling.

Colember coughs. "Good day sirs, I hate to interrupt your game, but we are seeking a dwarf named Dale. Would it be possible to speak with him?"

The guards jump to attention"Doin' nothin'. I mean we ain't doing anything" the guards blurt out in unison the non guard dwarf remains seated he casually kicks his feet up on the table and eyes Colember"and you are,don't get many visitors round 'ere. "

"Yes, we're new. We were hired to find a killer. And now we need to hire someone that can lead us to him. We are surface people and need a guide down in the tunnels." Leonan offers the information openly.
"We were told to seek Dale, that he is the best there is."
