Appearance: Erianna appears refined and full of nobility and grace when she is at her best, poised and smiling charmingly among a crowd of new friends in a beautiful gown. Out in the rough desert, she is all-too-often sweaty, itchy, and generally-uncomfortable, which mars her air of nobility and poise somewhat.

Personality: Erianna is a kind and loyal friend with a benevolent streak that appears sporadically when she feels like it. Those who make themselves her enemy, however, are in for a carefully calculated revenge. She feels a sense of camaraderie with all other practitioners of the psionic art, and she is quick to make friends amongst wealthy humans as well. Nonetheless, she considers those without psionic talent with a hint of suspicion, as they might be jealous of the powers she controls.

Background: Erianna is a young member of a prominent Merchant House, and she had her way paid through an Academy because of this. Aside from the harsh strictures of the Academy's training, Erianna has had a relatively easy life so far, at least easier than many Athasians. But recently, someone in her own house, perhaps one who felt threatened by the talented young psion, whispered to those above that Erianna had taken away from the house's funds for Academy training without giving anything back in return. And so it was decided that she would accompany a trading caravan as the house's official envoy. She does not relish the task, in fact she is extremely annoyed, not used to life in the harsh desert wastelands outside of her home city-state. Even the thought of sleeping in a tent and getting sand all over her is irksome. Ultimately, she hopes to discover her secret enemy and pay back what is due...if she ever recovers from this defacto near-exile.

Oops! I wrote up Erianna away from internet access and realised that I defaulted to a Telepath (my usual Psion favourite) when I was supposed to be making a Shaper! Since we have a Telepath already, I will be fixing her quickly. Mea culpa!

Hi guys. I have my internet back and am getting ready to game. By tonight I should have characters reviewed and background info for everyone. I started a Rogue's Gallery at http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?p=2897158#post2897158 so feel free to post your characters there. I may ask you to change a few things if I notice any problems on my review but you might as well get them posted over there.

Steve Gorak: The poison bard thing works okay with me, but it should be done in moderation. Because this is a small-scale, mutual respect, bard thing, you can't come in with large orders and expect them to be made on the spot. It works for people getting orders made for special and specific purposes, most of the time. I'll let you start the game with enough half-poison as you can afford and carry, but future purchases can only be made on a small scale. The lethality and commonality of the poison will change the availability. I think it will be a fun thing to deal with IC as a shady bard.

Personally, I like the half-giant too. I thought you might be a caravan guard but what ties you to the party is that you start acting like and hanging out with another PC, as half-giants tend to do. Let me know what you think?

That works.
Let me go over the build one more time and then I'll post it into rogues gallery.

The only thing bad about it... no skill points... oh well.

From the companion list in the Terrors of .pdf, I was looking at a Jhakar for Quaketongue's animal companion, but then I noticed it has an Int of 3. I thought I remembered reading somewhere on the boards that animal companions have to be 2 or lower. If someone more rules-savvy than me could confirm that, I'll give the companion list another look (If I forego the Jhakar, I think it's between a Lesser boneclaw or an Erdlu, as they're the only other reptilian critters left).

Lot: Any thoughts / objections on animal companion for Quaketongue? the pdf with the list of available critters and their stats is here

thanks,

jason

Should I be concerned that we'll have a Half Giant travelling with us that has "chaotic" as part of his fixed alignment? This means he'll be CE and CN 67% of the time...scary stuff. Can such a character even be a guard?

I'd feel much safer if the fixed alignment were either "neutral", "good" or "lawful".
Anyways, just my two cents...

Thanks. I'll use it with moderation. Besides, if my character uses poison too much, he'll draw unwanted attention - always a bad idea on Athas.

Cheers,
