Dark Sun art: Disappointed

Hey, if we're sharing Dark Sun-inspired art:

Hey Klaus, like the art, but I just have to say- For some reason the wall they're standing over doesn't work for me. Whatever the texture is you did stands out too much, doesn't seem like it fits with the rest of the piece and keeps distracting me... Just my opinion though.

In the spirit of pointing out the positive, the Chapter Six opening spread (page 196) is a perfect example of what I want to see more of. That picture really captures the feel I'm looking for in Dark Sun art.

Totally agree.

The smoldering sun. The sky filled with big . . . winged . . . somethings in the distance. Party exploring gingerly through a crumbling ruined city from lost ages with streets filled with sand dunes. Distant mountains barely visible through the haze of dusty skies.

I'm good with the Chapter Three opening spread as a runner up in the chapter spread art.

Still, Master Defiler artist . . . got the message and delivered.

Actually I didn't.

The Mekillot is actually pretty true to the 2e version. The illo has a good sense of scale. It's not my favorite monster entry, but I think it does the job.
