D&D 5E Darksun times of change[Oc]closed]

Haha well Azure said they're way bigger than goliaths so I just wanted to be sure he still wanted a 10ft 1400lb creature to be Medium.

Oh yeah, the first one they posted was DandDWiki-level broken :) but the last one was in the range of playable, with the Dex penalty and the Born to Obey flaw.

Yeah I can see that. That's probably the brightest line not to cross in 5e PC racial design. If they were going to find a way to publish a Large race, they'd have done it in Volo's.

To avoid any conflicts from our discussion earlier (the shield, defensive style, etc) I just made the final Chtchk'Chtchk an archer with no armour.

Looking forward to this.

I don't understand. Unlike in 3.x, Large size does nothing but make you take up more space in 5e. (That +4 Str is more of an issue for me.) If everything else is balanced, Large size just means more people can surround you (in the open), you take up a ton of space (in tight spaces), and if you are invisible, attackers have a better chance of targeting the "correct" space you're in. That's it.

Oh, and give you a bigger carrying capacity. But hardly anyone ever tracks encumbrance, anyway.

Taking up more space allows you to threaten more enemies -- and a 10x10 Protection Sentinel Paladin could be sweetly tanky.
DMG 278 discusses weapons for Large creatures, and it could get nasty.

If causes issues with squeezing and gear size and stuffs.
