Darkvision and Polymorph

In our last campaign, this issue came up: does Polymorph Other or Polymorph Self grant darkvision?

Polymorph grants no "supernatural" or "extraordinary" abilities.

We've always played that it does grant it, but yesterday, my DM found the section on darkvision in the DMG which starts with:

"Darkvision is the extraordinary ability to see with no light source at all, to a range specified for the creature." (from the SRD)

That ended that argument. Was this correct?

that quote is also pg 74 in the DMG under the Darkvision decsription in the Special Abilities section

(*note that Low-light Vision (pg 79) is not defined as extraordinary or supernatural...)
