Dawnforge Characters

I am just getting started putting together my Dawnforge campaign, which will start in late February. So far, the characters are...

Reynard,

Thanks for posting the info regarding your upcoming campaign! All of these great character and campaign ideas. I'm going to have a hard time deciding what type of character I am going to play--but, keep'em coming.

Good luck with your game!

All the characters are starting at 2nd level to increase their survivability.

Thanks blackshirt5! I was just wondering because I noticed that one of the characters was multiclassed...

I agree and may tweak the idea....maybe a tiefling wizard/ranger???????
Have to look at the 2 elven races tonight went over Tiefs, humans, and halflings last night.

If you go with elf over tiefling you could then go Arcane Archer prestige class? But, without the book (should get it today! :D) I'm not even sure if that or any prestige class is available...

No problem; originally I was gonna start at 1st level, but when Angcuru brought me his character concept I decided to go with it(also to increase survivability and give Chris access to some much needed healing spells). I wasn't even shooting for a weird party, I just kinda got handed it; I was actually hoping for more your standard, Lodoss War or normal D&D style party(the Elf Wizard, the Dwarf Fighter, the Rogue, and the Disciple) but I honestly like this party a lot better; they're real characters, and it oughta give me days and days of fun messing with a party without any real direct damage spells and a lack of efficient healing.

Also, a quick question for Wil if he's looking; can Disciples or Shapers turn undead? Is it now just an ability in the hands of the Paladin?

There will be PrC and there are Legendary Classes etc....

but if I do Night Elf Ranger he will be good with bow but have some other tactics up his sleeve (or on his sleeve ;) ).

What are you thinking LW?

I like the idea of making Prestige Classes available, personally, but not having anyone have them; if my Dawn Elf Fighter wants to, he could conceivably become the First Bladesinger.

Just a random thought somewhat connected to the topic.

That is a very Dawnforgey idea...and kinda cool as well.

Gee, thanks! Always nice to hear my ideas are liked.

Actually, I think it'll be more of an idea for the Night Elf Sorcerer/Swashbuckler. Lovely for history, no? The Bladesingers founded by a Drow!(I'm considering, after this campaign, changing the world, fast forwarding a thousand years or so, and running Dawnforge 2000, with the events of this campaign affecting the course of the world).

If it ain't on the chart, it ain't in the class. :) Turning undead is rare in Dawnforge, and something not logically tied to either the disciple or shaper class at this point in time.

Wow; so only Paladins can turn undead? I'm kinda split on this; while it'll be nice to not have to watch an encounter with undead get FUBARed by a good turning check(not that this party would've anyway) that IS gonna take a bit of getting used to.
