DDI - 8000 subscribers and counting - When will it stop?

You also have to join the particular group. I just logged on and found I'm not in the group despite being a DDI subscriber. Could be because I'm at work and behind a (poor) proxy, so I'll have to try to sign up for it when I get home.

I suppose it is when you log onto the forum - you have to fill out some stuff to make your account active there.

Otherwise it sounds horribly low.

Yes, but how much did it cost to create DDI and how much does the ongoing development of the DDI Tools cost?
They you also have to figure in how many hard sales WOtC looses because people pay for 1 month DDI and download the contents of several books.

All in all, 8000 subscribers would be very low and unsatisfying.
But when membership of that group is voluntary this number is far from accurate.

With the new community forums, there are community group. If you are a DDI subscriber, you automatically join the DDI group. That group is up to 8000 members, hence the number.

Sorry, looked around still can't find it. What is the exact name of the group in question? The biggest group on the site only has about 800 members, not 8000.

I'd be curious to get a more accurate number as well. I know a lot of D&D gamers and only a handful of them (myself included) are DDI subscribers. Personally I haven't been thrilled with it at all but it's generally worth the cash.

The search feature doesn't seem to work so great. Try this: D&D Insider community group

It is possible you need to be already logged in to visit that link. Or make the Macarena or stand upside down. I could find it via my profile, but I am a member already.

Did everyone got added to that group automatically, or do they have to log into the forum first?
As mentioned twice, you have to log into the forum first.

I think I had to sign up for that group, I didn't try to remember at the time. Unless they have changed it it's voluntary.
