DDM: Underdark preview 2

Exactly! I was very happy to see them continue the 8 large uncommons (large figure in every booster) style they started with AngelFire. But the sculpt on the Ankheg is beautiful for a large uncommon. I can't wait.

Yeah, I can't wait until they put out a set with 8 large commons. It's got to be inevitable.

So, anyone want to start a pool on how many dwarves will be in Underdark?

Well, it is the Underdark . . . Hopefully, they'll have another duergar, and maybe a derro.

Hmm, it would be kind of cool if they had an Large enlarged duergar, especially if its clothes, gear, & general sculpt matched a Medium duergar.

In case anyone was curious, the September preview is up. All I have to say is this: IRON GOLEM RULES!

I hope it's LG man.

OK, now I'm starting to get paranoid. You know why?

Because someone's been listening to us.

"INTRUDERS DETECTED. ASS-KICKING MODE ENGAGED."

A common medium spider. The eyes are pressed a little close together--makes it look a little too cute. Also, I'd rather see a different color besides black. And the legs should taper inwards to nasty little points. Still, these are minor quibbles and I applaud this choice for a common.

Quick question: what's the deal with vermin in the DDM game? For some reason, the vermin we've gotten up to this point has been templated (fiendish mantis, fiendish spider, fiendish scorpion). Was this motivated by the need to make them more friendly to the DDM skirmish game, or was it just to toughen them up? Has something changed in the rules?

Some archer chick that won't see play as a PC or as a baddie IMC. Oh well, two out of three ain't bad. Nice looking mini though, I suppose (although they're usually touched-up a bit nicer than the ones that come in the box).

That's really cool. I like the medium spider. It's REALLY about time for the medium spider sculpt. God, I really hope they put out an uncommon large spider sculpt. Those suckers were hard to get as rares.

Oh, and I think this probably happened because otherwise people would look at the mantis sculpt and say: "That doesn't look like a preying mantis.... Oh. It's fiendish? Why didn't you say so..."

Summon spells. Definitely summon spells. These minis are supposed to be as friendly to PCs as they are to DMs, and fiendish vermin are all over the Summon Monster list.

Demiurge out.

I guess that's possible, but couldn't they just have regular vermin and let the player call it fiendish or celestial or whatever?
