D&D 5E DECEPTION x DECEPTION or DEPCTION x INSIGHT check?

Just curious, why are you all using the Deception Skill for forgery? Deception is a social skill. Shouldn't Forgery be an Int (Forgery Kit Tool Proficiency) roll? It states in the PHB under the Intelligence skills description - Forge a document. It takes a Intelligence to know what a document's supposed to look like and how to make it fool someone. I don't really think its Dexterity. I would really be hesitant about allowing Dex to substitute for more skills than it already has as the superstat and try to keep as much exclusive to Int to prevent it from being the universal dumpstat for everything non Wizard.
