Deicide: The slaying of Cyric. 3.5 Epic

Background (stats coming soon)

Voldric Deathson, Human Cleric of Kelemvor 20

Volrdic Deathson was initiated in the church of Kelemvor at a young age. He grew up learning to minister at funerals and prepare the dead for the afterlife. He was content with his life, never desiring adventure or anything beyond the simple life he had earned himself.

He'd already married and had nearly grown children when tragedy struck. Voldric's family fell in an attack by Cyric's followers and Voldric grew vengeful, now having a personal stake in the battle against Cyric. Now in his 40s, he gained power and influence in the church, bending his will toward bloody vengeance against Cyric and his followers.

When he learned of the gathering of heroes being sent through the river of time to deal with Cyric himself, he jumped at the chance.

But now he finds his passion for vengeance wavering...by travelling the river of time, he could have a second chance to save his wife and children.

CM: Great concept! I was expecting someone to use the time travel to fix a mistake in his life :) But, some FR canon:

The Time of Troubles (when Cyric mudered Bhaal and ascended) was at 1358 DR, the Year of Shadows.

Kelemvor's ascension: Kelemvor, a sullen adventurer and companion of Cyric and Mystra, was killed by Cyric with Godsbane, but his soul was hidden by Mask and unintentionally gained the portfolio of death by defeating Cyric with the help of Godsbane (Mask in the form of a sword) in the Year of the Banner (1368 DR), ten years after the Time of Troubles. He has since striven to change the horrifying image of death promoted by his predecessors.

The Spellplague, (current time at the start of the adventure) happens at 1385 DR

So there are only 27 years from the beginning of 3E to the beginning of 4E (if you would have it this way). And Kelemvor has been a God for 17 years approximately. As such your times might be a bit off, that's just a heads up.

For the past 6 days i have been investing all my free time after work with helping a friend switch flats. Now that this is over i'll have some time for you guys, but I will be going to the beach in like a week or so, so this game will start in August probably.

So, if Voldric gets in at the ground floor (right at the beginning of those 17 years), at about 20 or so, that will make him 37. Still plenty old enough to have a wife and kids.

What is the current date (pre time travel)?

Current date is Mirtul the 11th, 12 days after the start of the Spellplague. It has taken some time for the Epic spells/Mythals to be set up, while most of the prep time has been done in private demiplanes with a faster time flow, the organization and bickering still took several days.

You will start in the campsite where everyone is currently. I'll give a good description in the IC thread and you can start with the RPing even if not all concepts have been thoroughly nitpicked.

Here is a RG so we can get the characters ready for review when i come back from the beach.

Here is what I have so far, I am assuming that Epic Feats are allowed (I only took two of them at 20th level), but I can change that if you want me to, ML

A couple of things that might need review:

1) You took Far Shot twice, at level 3 and level 10.
2) Epic Feats are not available until level 21.
3) You have a writeup for whisper gnomes, despite the character being human.
4) You have Wings of Flying and a Cape of the Mounteback. These items use the same equipment 'slot' and can't be used at once.
5) On a more aesthetic level, you have both Far Shot AND Distance on that bow. Honestly it's rare for combat to take place at anything approaching those ranges. You might be better served with a different feat or weapon ability.

Epic fail, thank you for pointing that out, it is being fixed presently along with the feats.

With the cape slot, I was figuring to have either or on, so I could get from spot to spot with the wings and then phase in and out, but I'll probably pick something else.

Well remember, a Cape of the Mountebank only allows you to Dimension Door 1/day. Not "phase in and out." You might be thinking of a Cloak of Etherealness.

Remember too that you can combine functions into a single magic item by adding 50% to the cost of the less expensive ability...and with GM approval.
