[Delta Green] Operas and Avatars: The Wild Hunt

Jonathan spends a few moments in his chair, his eyes absently surveying the table, his mind lost in thought. With a deep breath and sigh, Jonathan slowly gets up and approaches Simon Magnus. Extending his hand, Jonathan says, "Dr. Jonathan Anderson. Nice to meet you Simon."

"So, Simon. What do you make of all of this? Anything you've seen before?" A small smirk starts to play across Jonathan's face. "Some mentally disturbed individual playing doctor and exsanguinating his victims?" Jonathan shakes his head. "Look, I've read the newspapers about goth teens drinking blood and playing at vampires. Is this some teen that took that extra step to murder or is this something else?"

"Now Dr. Anderson. That would seem to be a very rash judgment. And one with no other rational than the few words spoken here today by a group of people would could not find their posterior with both hands." says Simon Magnus. "Now if you disregard a train of thought just because of its absurdity, then you might fail to discover the real truth."

Janet nods. "The trip was fine. I am glad the package came. What is our first course of action, Dr. Conrad?"

"I believe we should get to know our partners in this endeavor." Says Dr. Conrad as he turns to look at Agent Foster. "Marcus Foster of the DEA? Pleased to meet you." He shakes his hand. "So what do you think of all this?"

Jonathan raises his eyebrows. "So you do think something else is going on? I can't imagine your views and theories will ever be expounded by those officers and lawyers. When you do have a theory, please let me know. I've seen some strange things this past year I just have not been able to explain. I might be more open to any suggestions you might have."

Magnus look around as if he is checking to see if anyone can overhear the conversation. "There is the possibility that the culprit is in fact a real Vampire. Now I don't think that our unimaginative colleagues would consider this line of reasoning valid. We'll have to prove it to them first or they will dismiss us as madmen."

"I am a little confused, the briefing failed to mention anything about a drug angle.

Unless blood counts. I wonder if the victims were high?
"

Dr. Conrad says. "I don't believe that any narcotics were found in the victim's systems." He looks at Marcus. "Oh, I see. You’re wondering why you were invited to this circus. I believe that Mr. Boulder wanted the task force to be as cosmopolitan as possible and he has some high level friends in the DEA."

He then looks over at Janet. "Now Ms. Taylor, I have to attend a important meeting in Boston tomorrow. I should be back either late in the evening or the next morning. I want you to keep your eyes and ears open and update me on the investigation when I return." Dr. Conrad then turns to Marcus. "Agent Foster, do you think that Ms. Taylor could work with you until I return. She is very resourceful and would be a great help to you in the investigation. I will begin working up a profile of the killer or killers and I should have it ready by the time I return."

Jonathan's brow furrows as he glances at Magnus. "Granted, myths are myths, but the sequence of events does not fit with my childhood stories of vampires. I might be able to say more once I examine those bodies and see if the wounds were animal or artificial in origin." Jonathan runs his hand through his long hair before rubbing his red eyes. "Even so, Magnus. A real vampire? Isn't it at first pass more logical that the culprit is a vampire wanna-be? An idolizer of some romanticized stories of vampires?" Jonathan sighs. "Thank you, Magnus. Let's keep the dialogue going. What you say sends a shiver down my back and I sincerely hope your theory is not correct."

He seems to be put off by your rejection of his theory. "Well if you wish we can discuss this further at a later time."
