I am at Camp Bucca Iraq. Myself and the group I am DMing for go home next month, but there are other gamers here that we have met and will be here for awhile longer. I will be sure to pass the word.

Forge - have those guys email me at info@militarygameday and I will hook them up!

Help with Baghdad IZ

Way to go Forge! We've got southern Iraq represented! Now if I could just get contact info on the Combat Photographers mentioned earlier...

Does anybody reading this have CURRENT points of contact for the KBR contractors that run MWR Baghdad in the IZ? I'm trying to get the game day on the calendar of events for the Palace Lounge. They already seem to run card, chess, and board games most weeknights (2000-2400), so I'm hoping it's not a stretch.

Anyone with any tips, please let Reaper Steve know please: info(at)militarygameday(dot)com

And if you let me know too, I'd appreciate it: colins(at)sbcglobal(dot)net

MODS: Does this thread qualify for a Sticky? Not that Reaper Steve isn't already sorting through an avalanche of contacts by now, but...

Thanks!

-Colin

I am helping Reaper Steve with locations in Iraq.
I'm looking for anyone interested in DMing, playing, or knows somebody in Camps or FOBs in the following locations (and you can add locations, too):

Baghdad : Camp Liberty
Baghdad : IZ (where I will be soon)
Mosul: Camp Marez
Basra: ???
Kirkuk:Camp Warrior
Tikrit: Camp Speicher
Umm Qasr: Camp Bucca (thanks Shane!)

Anyone with any tips, please let Reaper Steve know please: info(at)militarygameday(dot)com. You can also let me know at colins(at)sbcglobal(dot)net.

Thanks!

Sorry about the delay. I have created two .PDF files of the Raiders of Oakhurst adventure. The first one is the text document only, without any maps or images. The second one is just the maps, without any formatting or text whatsoever.

I tried to format the images smoothly into the document, but something is wrong with my configuration (or the software I am using; MS Publisher. ) because either the filesize is enormous (>50MB) or the images are too grainy to read the text.

I hope that someone out there with a better rig can work with these images...or at least clean the maps up and add the text to them so I can stuff them into the document properly.

Awesome work! I like how you split these up! And they are a e-mailable size, so every DM we get will be able to have these at the ready as a follow-up or warm-up to the Game Day adventure!

The key we'll have is getting access to color printers in the various locations, but to be honest I used my laptop and drew the encounter areas out free-hand based on the maps. Your edited version will also make that easier. Thanks!

Alright...I got medieval on its ass. :]

I was having issues with the original formatting of the document, and Word wasn't letting me remove the columns or certain breaks...so I ended up stripping ALL formatting in the document and rebuilding it from the ground up. Now it has tables, section breaks, a functional table of contents, tables...

The new Word document can be found here (300 KB .doc). It is primed and ready for artwork. (Hint, hint...)

Once that was done, it was a rather small task to convert the document into an Adobe Acrobat file, which can be downloaded here (3.7MB .pdf). Unlike my previous one, it actually has good-looking maps in it. All it needs is a front and back cover (hint, hint), and it's money.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

Standby for more info regarding Military D&D Game Day (and a rather ambitious announcement)... hopefully before the end of the week!
