Desecrate's secondary effect?

Yes, the evil alter with the desecrate on it is also unhallowed. But I'm adding silence as the spell effect associated with the unhallowed site. I've placed an angel of decay in the area as the brutish combatant, and an evil cleric loaded with several of the summon undead spells from Libris Mortis. The silence will only affect opponents of the opposite faith (i.e. the cleric).

The way unhallow is written, I don't think I'm allowed to silence the group's wizard, as he isn't a member of any church associated with the cleric's deity's pantheon. And basing it on alignment won't get them both either, as the cleric is NG and the wizard is LN. The wizard is from another plane of existence, so the evil cleric has a chance to banish him, but since that is a Will save, their is a good chance he'll be fine.

Anyway, any suggestions and tactics would be appreciated.

p.s. Oh yes, I forgot, they both have lesser rods of silent spell.

It simply means that the altar, shrine, etc is no longer in any way a holy place for that deity and is not a suitable place to worship. A cleric of that deity could still regain spells or turn undead, just as he could in any other part of a foul, evil, cursed dungeon.
