Destiny of the Valenar

Eliseri's Vision:
[SBLOCK]
You quickly slip into reverie and feel yourself being filled with a comforting presence. In your reverie, your mind perceives that you are walking through the Blade Desert, down a path you are familiar with. It seems two days pass on your walk. You sense a presence walking with you, but whenever you turn to look, no one is there. On the evening of the second day, you see a large stone jutting from the desert, you turn right at this stone, walking directly toward the Endworld Mountains, rising in the distance.

As the light becomes dimmer and dimmer, a beautiful feminine voice speaks to you, clearly coming from the presence that has sojourned with you.

"Follow this path. Deviate if you must, but never lose the path. By this, you will honor me."

Well'Xix's vision:
[SBLOCK]
You have difficulty acheiving reverie. Eventually the smoke begins getting to you, stinging your eyes. It begins to form a faint shape in front of you...and solidifies into an Elf. translucent, but present.

His voice is barely louder than a whisper, but it carries an intensity that is frightening.

"I am NOT a horselord...as I suspect you have long known. My name has been lost. Find me. Restore me. Here."

He grabs your forehead with one smokey hand and a flash of pain explodes in your skull. The light of the fire fades from your consciousness and you see an encampment in the foothills of some mountains. A large group of goblinoids, 25, maybe 30, in full wargear are excavating the area. The outside of the tombs are marked in ancient elven script. Goblins are moving in and out of the tombs that have been opened, moving stone from the excavations deep below the mountains.

You awake with a start, sitting in the smoke.[/SBLOCK]

Kindric's Vision:

[SBLOCK]You have some difficulty falling into reverie, your focus slipping from the task at hand due to the after effects of you drinking binge. Eventually, the smoke from the Shrine of Glory begins to accumulate in the room, causing you to finally slip under.

You hear a voice, speaking in a matter of fact way, with a good deal of humor apparent in his voice.

"Kindric, you and I? We have more in common than you think. This is the job I am sending you on."

A series of tombs, dug into a mountain side appear in your mind's eye. Your mind travels from the main section of tomb fronts to the south, around a bend and over a hill. There is a large slab of red stone. The red slab falls away, and deep inside you find six sarcophogus. The first stone carved lid you come to has the face of Eliseri carved into the stone. The second has your own face. The third has a carving of Nialan. The fourth bears no resembalance to any elf you have ever met. As you walk by it, you feel intense cold. The fifth tomb is carved in the fashion of a haggard old crone with very real acid pouring from her eyeholes. The final stone carving has two faces. One of Well'Xix, and another of a young male elf with a ring held up to his eye.

"Your heritage...you and all of your friends: you will find it here. Get it."

With his last words echoing in your mind, you awake in the smoky room.[/SBLOCK]

Nialan's vision:
[sblock]
You quickly slip into reverie and see a large field of battle. On one side you see an army of the Talenta Halflings waging war against the other side, an expedition of goblinoid warriors. A beautiful elven woman dressed in chain and plate armor that sparkles with reddish silver flecks, bearing a double-scimitar dripping with blood walks from the center of the melee toward you.

"Hello Nialan. You know who I am. You must remember this above all things: The enemy of your enemies can aid you this day. The spoils of this expedition will strengthen your warband. A friend of mine saw to it that the most powerful of these finds...four relics of an age long past, made it here to Khorvaire. This friend...he was stricken from the records and his name has been lost. Find what he saved. Find what he did. Find a way to restore his memory so that he may be honored again."

As you drift from your reverie you hear echoing in your mind..."Remember, the enemy of your enemy..."[/sblock]

Well'Xix stands up and taakes several steps back from the smoldering timbers of the ancestral fire. His heart is racing like a runaway freight stallion, his mind, still clouded by smoke, is reeling. Reaching up, he put his hand to his forehead where the apparition had touched him. "I am not a Horse Lord...." he muttered, both fear and exhiliration in his heart.

Turning he dashed from the tystol os eindri cer towards the Great Keeper. "I must go! I have seen my destiny! I have seen the truth! I must go!" he panted.

Nialan Valera

Nialan speaks in his mind, "I will devote my waking moments to this task and find that which has been forgotten. I thank you for this honor, First Keeper."

Returning from his reverie, Nialan sits for a few moments, caught up in an unexpected internal peace and harmony. He picks up the scroll, slowly rises from the room, and exits the building.

Staggering out of the small, smoky chamber, Kindric rubs his itching eyes. Seeing the tystol os eindri cer empty, he steps out into the night. He frowns in concentration and looks to Well'Xix, Nialan, and Eliseri. "Well now," he whispers, "I've had less respectable comrades than these before. My compliments, Grimbane."

Kindric takes his time in buckling his quiver of javelins and dagger-belt back on. He approaches Shyr Cydi and says, "The visions - what of them? Must we tell them? keep them secret? Or are we free to do as we will?"

Returning from reverie, Eliseri sits there for a few monets to gather her thoughts? Must I follow this path? What is at the end of it? Either way, I will honor you. with that Eliseri gathers the quivers and exits the building to see the others gathered outside.

"We have all seen what was meant to be seen. What are we to do with these visions, Shyr Cydi?"

After the four of you step from the smoke-filled hut, Shy Cydi steps foward from his place in the great circle of Keepers and warriors surrounding the building. He gives a waterskin to each of you.

"Drink of this, clear the smoke of the ancestors from your throats and speak to us with the voices of those who came before. Tell us what task has been set before you as your gateway to adulthood."

The First Speaker looks expectantly at the four of you.

"Apparently I am to follow a path in the Blade Desert for two days and then turn towards the Endworld Mountains. What is at the end of this path is unknown to me. But by Silverleaf's name, I must honor her and do as the visions shown," Eliseri says as if this was common sense known by everyone. "What of everyone else? Are we to travel together, or will we be going in our own directions?"

I sure do hope that I don't not have to travel with the rest of these people, Eliseri thinks to herself. But if I must, then I swear I will make sure the journey is a safe one.
