Destiny of the Valenar

Well'Xix took a sip of the waterskin, his breath still coming in agitated gaspes. "My vision was very clear. There is a mountain, and in the mountain are tombs of our people, marked by runes in the old script. Goblins and their monstrous ilk are excavating into the site. Whatever it is that those disgusting sons of Dhakaan are searching for is what I must find. Though...," and here Well'Xix had some doubt, "I do not know where this treasure is located."

Coughing slightly, Kindric accepts the waterskin. "An' right grateful, Shyr Cydi," he says hoarsely. He purses his lips, absorbing what the others have said before he speaks. "Eliseri has seen the way. Well'Xix has seen the purpose. The Grimbane showed me the thing itself - tombs, bearing our countenances. We will be traveling together. There is... a horror, there, waiting. Six tombs for four people - the other two I did not recognize. One chilled my bones as I passed by. The other wept acid tears." Turning to Nialan, he asks, "What had your vision to say of this, Nialan?"

Kindric said:
"Eliseri has seen the way. Well'Xix has seen the purpose. The Grimbane showed me the thing itself - tombs, bearing our countenances. We will be traveling together.

Sighing the moment the words come out of his mouth, Eliseri looks to the group. "Do your best to keep your hides intact. I don't want to have to save you all from a dreadful death," she says with a cold look on her face.

Shyr Cydi holds up his hand

"Silence this bickering. I will not have it. I believe Kindric has the beginnings of understanding. Eliseri is to lead the way. Well'Xix has seen the destination. Kindric has seen the goal. What, Nialan have you seen. It is now time to speak, so that the will of the Ancients may be known, and that the four of you may achieve glory doing their will."

Nialan Valera

Nialan looks deep in thought*, as if he had wandered beyond the stars themselves. When addressed directly, he snaps back to the present. "We must find that which has been lost and forgotten. Kindric and Well'Xix, I believe you have seen the resting place of the relics we must recover. I must restore the memory of the one who secured these artifacts. And I believe we can find aid with the halflings of Talenta."

OOC:*In game excuse for my physical absense from the game. I was away for a few days and neglected to let you all know, my apologies.

The Keeper's eyes widen at Nialan's statement and he blurts out,

"Those raiders and theives? You have been given odd instructions indeed to be encouraged to consort with such as those."

Shyr Cydi looks lost in thought a moment and then speaks, not only to the four of you, but to all the assmebled warriors.

"They have been assigned a grand quest by their ancestors and together they must achieve it! Eliseri, daughter of the Silverleaf shall lead them into the wilderness! There the four of them shall find encamped a group of Dhakaani at the site of ancient tombs belonging to our people. Well'Xix, scion of the Horselord and Kindric of the Grimbane line shall see the four of you through the ruins. There you shall find evidence of a great ancestor that has been lost in time, and Nialan, favored of the first of my calling, shall find this evidence, and tell us this lost one's story! Along the way he shall be called upon to treat with the ruthless vermin of the plains, and enlist their treachourous aid! The ancestors have spoken. Make preparations this eve. Upon the rising of the sun, you shall strike out for your destiny. Tonight you will stay together in a tent specially prepared for you outside of camp. Discuss your expedition there, and be off when the sun is first seen in the sky."

"Well as the ancestors had shown us, we must follow. I look forward to traveling with you all," Eliseri says with a very monotone voice. "There are a few things I have to take care of before nightfall. I will see you at the tent a few hours before the sun falls behind the horizon." And with that Eliseri gathers her belongings and heads off until the times she stated. Silverleaf, I apologize for not accepting the idea of this to begin with. But I was wrong, it seems as if you and the other ancestors have a goal. And in your honor and name, I must make sure the path is a safe one.

[sblock]Eliseri is going to try and find a map of the area she was shown in her ritual. She is hoping to find out more about this path she was shown to see roughly where it leads. She wants to be as prepared as possible.[/sblock]

Eliseri, [sblock]having trained extensively with some of the scouts and outriders in the warband goes directly to the chief outrider's tent and finds him just arriving back from observing your coming-of-age ritual. He sits down on a stool and says, "So, I guess you want a map for where you are headed. Nothing wrong with being prepared. Describe the path you saw, and I'll do my best."

You describe in fairly accurate detail the path you saw and he sits and thinks a moment.

"I think I have a map that will help you..." He takes out a map case and sorts through it a moment..."Here you go...it sounds as if you are headed to the Talenta plains, and past that into the endworld mountains. This map has been used in raids on the halflings in the past, and has their permanent settlements and good hiding places marked. In addition to the usual landmarks. Best of luck Eliseri. If you do well here, I'm sure we can find a place for you with the outriders."[/sblock]

Nialan Valera

[sblock]Nialan is curious of the measure and history of his destined fellow questors. Through his knowledge (history) and/or bardic knowledge* what/how much does he know of them and their ancestors?

*btw, it appears I forgot to list my second domain on my character sheet. I would go with ancestor and therefore have the bardic knowledge granted power, if this is okay with you)[/sblock]
