I played D&D. I play D&D every Sunday, and if GM wanted to cancel or reschedule the game for a football game he'd get the rough side of my tongue!

Watched (and enjoyed!) the game, of course.

Now that the football season is over, I can play in D&D games that day. During the season there is no RPG-ing on Sundays. That's what Fridays and Saturdays are for. :)

Hear, hear!

Though I would add the rest of the week to that.

Absolutely watched the superbowl. Really got into the NFL this year and have had a good time with it. Every Sunday hanging out with friends, shooting the... poop, watching the games. It's good stuff. Plus, I enjoy talking football with my long time friend who was always more of a jock than a D&D geek.

The only thing that annoys the crap out of me is how many commercials play during each game. I've found the best cure for this is to go to the bar where there's 10 screens playing different games so when your game goes to commercial, you can watch the others. I have such a good time with that. Plus, it's fun to have a couple of beers and make fun of your friends teams. :D

It's interesting that a majority of ENWorlders did NOT watch the superbowl. I'm suprized the D&D number is so low though.

Thought provoking, thank you folks.

I don't play on Sundays, but even if we did nobody in the group would rather play that one Sunday rather than watch the Superbowl. So I went to a buddies house and watched it on his new TV. Good game I thought, the rain made everything chancy.

Err... as of this writing, 53% did. Which seems about right; I'd guess a large majority (60%+) of Americans watched the game, and only a small minority of non-Americans did.

I don't know what the demographics of ENWorld are, but I'd guess almost no one outside the US & Canada watched the Super Bowl (because even if they like American football -- which for some reason hasn't travelled as well as basketball and baseball -- the timing's going to make it difficult to watch in Europe or Asia, and it's certainly not on network TV). And some percentage of even Americans just don't appreciate the NFL, and/or didn't care about the Colts and Bears.

I used to watch it when I was younger. I'd stay up until 4 am (or thereabouts), drink a few ciders and prepare a few D&D adventures during the endless commercial breaks.

[I get the impression Americans may get "special" commercials during the superbowl, but in the UK we get our usual "middle of the night" commercials, which are normally 40 year old road safety films and the like.]

Nowadays, I don't bother.

Sleep is much more appealing than watching the world's slowest sport, where "running down the clock" is not only accepted but well nigh compulsory.

D&D. The Packers weren't playing so there was no temptation.
We have one player that drops D&D for the entirety of football season. Ugghhh!!

Oops, must have had some number dyslexia there. Happens more and more as I get older.

So most D&D players get sucked in with everybody else. It wasn't even a question with my group.

Bad guess Droghtery. The superbowl is covered by most of the world and shown live in over a 100 countries.
