I'm interested in knowing this stuff, too. Maybe I missed it, but I haven't seen a listing of the pntheons that will be in it. We know the Greek mythos will be covered, but who else? I'm hoping it'll have most of the ones covered by the 1e Deities & Demigods. That includes Arthurian legends and monster deities.

I think that it goes more indepth with some of the Greyhawk gods, and I also heard somewhere that it deals with some of the FR deities in more detail.

Don't quote me on either of those, though.

I'm going to take a stab here. I believe it will be a contemplation of *all* the known D&D gods/demigods. It would only make since, being a D&D product. I believe it will consist of the gods from Greyhawk, OA, FR, etc... Kinda like a more in-depth look into the nature of gods, how they are related and what-not. Probably going to be alotta relation in the book to the planes themselves. Probably descriptive upon exactly *what* a diety is, *how* they obtain their power, and *where* exactly they are. Might be some info as well on how a person can create their own diety (yea, it's possible and still maintain the D&D perspective). You can surly expect more than just FR and Greyhawk. In my opinion, it won't really be worth getting, it sounds like, for the most part, just being a more in-depth, organized set of things you should already know. Anyways, they may throw in some diety-related skills, traits, spells, etc. Should be interesting to see what exactly is put in there, but knowing WotC, it should be pretty obvious.

(Look I just quoted you! :) )

Sorry, shouldn't be any FR gods in DD. The month after DD comes out, Faiths and Pantheons comes out for the FR which includes lots of godly and clerical information. They won't be printing the same information in two books that are published a month apart.

I'm looking forward to both products!

Well, the ones we have for certain are Greyhawk and Greek.
The pantheons I'm pretty certain will be there are Egyptian, Norse, Celtic, and maybe Finnish, Chinese, and Aztec.

Probably also some stuff for their servants, like a Divine Servant template, and some clerical, deity-specific prestige classes.

Godly artifacts, like Thor's hammer, Wotan's spear, and that Egyptian sun-bloke's chariot.

And all that is just speculation.

Missing Gods

I am really looking forward to the DD book. The only thing I am bummed about is that apparently some of the gods were left out. :(

According to the most recent issue of Dragon (with the lovely sun god on it) - Pholtus, Rao, Iuz and Therazdun.

How on earth they could not include these gods, especially Iuz and Therazdun, leaves me wondering why.

Has anyone heard why they are being left out?

Well, none of those gods are in the PH. The only Greyhawk deities I expect will be detailed are those given in the PH. If they do detail others, then that'll be a nice surprise. :)

i personally am hoping to see demon and devil lords, as well as Charon and Anthraxus of the yugoloths, Apomps of the gehreleths, the slaadi lords, Primus of the modrons, the Elemental Princes of Evil (archomentals), and hell, who knows, even Sardior the gem dragon lord. :)
