Differences between the Buffy & Angel RPGs?

They're designed to be played independently. The mechanics are allegedly a little more realistic for the Angel game, but I don't have it to say that definitively. But the material also is portable between the two games -- the Watcher supplement, "Tea & Crossbows," will actually be for both game lines.

Very very little. THe Angel game assumes the characters are a bit more skilled and probalby a bit older but other then that they work well together.

The Angel RPG has a lot of superpowers, err, demon powers that can be used for PCs or to create new demon species. Kinda nifty.

The Buffy RPG has more magic.

The two games are 100 percent compatible in terms of mechanics.

As others have already stated, the default 'power level' for Angel is slightly higher than that for Buffy. Angel has more rules for demons and organizations (e.g. Wolfram & Hart), and Buffy has more rules for magic.

If you get Angel + the supplement "The Magic Box" (a Buffy supplement, but perfectly compatible with Angel) you will have everything you need.
