Dire Lemming: something seems medically wrong with me. I may post slowly for while.

Honestly, try going to a chiropractor.

You might be surprised what they can fix.
It could be a spinal alignment issues or a pinched nerve or something like that.

....

i agree with free Xenon here. i have had some serious spinal injuries have some wierd effects and have had them fixed.

as for the diabetes, i speak from personal experience. at your age i would have to say the probability of type one (adolescent onset) is a non issue. to be a type two (adult onset) at your yourn age you would have to have a sea of cellulyte on you and have a family issue with it.

I found out at age 37 and at the age of 44 started on needles after a long fruitless battle using pills. i am now 45. i have never liked needles and hate them even more now!!! UGH!!!

so having said that i would have to say that you probably do not have that aie ment (yes that was purposefully missspelled) Now that i have several spelling and such errors in this, as i always had in "daroln of Mortality dot net" maybe you will be humored into laughter and laughter being the best medicine you will get well soon!!!

Heh, thanks. I'm ok now. My thumb is just numb. I'm becoming convinced that it's something in my neck though because sometimes when I crack it I can feel something in my arm. I've had a constant crick in my neck for years, ever since I went on a plane ride from Honolulu to Toronto.

I would vote for a chiro as well. The good ones will fix you and then you won't need to go again (for something like this, which sounds like an injury).

Long term something like yoga or rolfing would be a good idea if you've the time/inclination/resources.

Anyway, hope you get better soon!

I would suggest following up with your doctor and asking about these issues specifically (numb thumb, constant crick in neck for years, cracking neck triggers feeling in your arm).
