Dirty Fighting

I'm sure this has been asked before, but Searching is disabled.

Can a fighter use Dirty Fighting (+1d4 dmg with a successful attack, requires full attack action) with another attack that requires a full attack action?

For example, say our fighter is 6th level and has BAB +6/+1. If he takes a full attack action to get his additional attack at +1, do any successful attacks ALSO get +1d4 from Dirty Fighting, or do you have to take a full attack action just to get +1d4 from ONE attack?

It is the second option.

It is OK for low levels but it sucks at high levels.

The Sage suggested an improved dirty fighting feat (req: dirty fighting). In which Dragon I can't say.

The Improved Dirty Fighting technique was reprinted in the D&D Game Rule FAQ on the Wizards site, under the section on Sword and Fist.

I was just reading the FAQ, and something bothers me in the "General Feats" section.

It suggests that someone performing a Whirlwind Attack can attack every opponent within 5 feet with their primary weapon, and then make one (or two) off-hand attacks with their secondary weapon.

Whirlwind Attack states that you give up your regular attacks in exchange for the Whirlwind. P124 suggests that off-hand attacks are distinct from "regular attacks".

But doesn't this imply that one can use off-hand attacks in conjunction with Dirty Fighting or Circle Kick?

I don't have Sword and Fist, so they may have worded it differently. Bu it seemed that WWA and DF were similar ideas - give up your regular attacks in a full attack to do something different.

-Hyp.

I read that with whirlkwind and ignored it. I just don't think that's what it was meant and I think they are confusing things by say that. Because as you've pointed out, if you can do that what other full round actions still allow offhand attacks? I think a full round action should still take a full round action and not allow off hand attacks.

Speaking of which, what's the point of Circle Kick? You get two attacks -5. But... why not just Flurry? Am I missing something?

You don't. Circle Kick: if your attack hits, make a free attack against a new target.

Perhaps you're thinking of Lightning Fists (name?) - make 2 extra attacks, all at -5, does not stack with flurry.

We ripped apart circle kick in a different thread. Lightning fists is pretty cool, as long as you're fighting low AC opponets or have very high bonuses to attack.
