So. In about two months or so (probably less), The Search for Tomas Quinn will be done, and I'm going to put together my next adventure.
How many 1st levels do we have kicking around? I have a few ideas over what to run, and I wanted to get some feedback.
1) Pathfinder - I was thinking of running Burnt Offerings, from Pathfinder. But set it up so that it doesn't lead into the second part, and make some other minor changes to tweak it for LEW. Big problem is, I could see that adventure taking maybe eight months to finish. It's pretty complex.
2) GM for Hire - the idea here would be to have a player ask the GM for a quest involving his PC, and me writing an adventure based around that. The Player would be responsible for hiring his own crew (from the RDI, of course) and organize his "expedition".
The example I'm thinking of, actually, is Rasereit, and his character's quest to find his ancestral homeland. He'd say to me "This is the basic outline of what happened", and I'd write up an adventure around that. I'd then say "Okay, so you'll have a long overland trek to get there, you know there are some traps in the halls, and there's a rumour of there being ogres" or something like that. I'd also say "other PCs should be around 3rd level". And he'd be responsible for putting togehter his party.
Big problem with the idea, though, is that it would (by nature) focus around one PC - other players might feel left out. Also, if the organizing PC doesn't do a good job, it could result in a TPK (though, I think LEW needs more PC deaths, anyways!).
I could probably run both, since Pathfinder is already done for me.
just really fishing for feedback, here.
