Reaper, that's the goal. I think we are seeing on the same level actually. Thing is, I'm going to set a sort of standard about creating taverns and such, because those are going to be traditional starting points for groups.

Basically I'm thinking the following (this is REALLY just preliminary, so I might be disuaded eventually):

Opening your own church, tower, town, settlement, tavern, etc. would require a feat.

Opening a Shop/Store: 3rd Level Minimum, you know, so you can sell your crafted items and such. Might actually come with a +2 bonus to your craft/profession checks, or with a craft magic item feat... I'm not positive yet...

Opening a Tavern, Inn, or other major location: 6th Level Minimum, preferably in a town needing a tavern. Provides a certain amount of income for the owner, and provides additional starting points and such for adventures and new characters...

Opening a Church, Wizard's School, Fighter's School, etc: 9th Level, and probably would allow students to learn many setting specific feats and stuff from the master... I'm thinking 9th because it makes it semi-exclusive

Creating a Major Settlement, Fortress, etc.: If a character wishes, at 12th or 15th level or higher, they can settle a brand new community in Enworld, with a decent population of NPCs and such (Also sometimes awarded to DMs that have been major parts in the world, but not to their characters)

Declaring a nation: 18th maybe? Not sure, but I'd like to eventually have a character found his own country to really show just how player influenced we are...

Just a quick idea about the gods... what if there were NONE in the beginning and the first clerics/ PCs (or whatever) that got to the epic level and got the spark got to become the gods so the the world was really developed from the bottom up. In the mean time the clerics could follow alignment based religion with domains.

what do you think?

Ack, I forgot your comment when I made that story (and by 'made that story,' I mean, of course, 'strung a heap of cliches together.') I guess it still sort of makes sense - you asked, "Are you the stranger, or am I?" meaning "Are you the one with the temper, or am I?"

Actually, that makes perfect sense.

[Edit]: Just a note to the GMs - I have a specific direction (and a specific prestige class) I want to take this character, and I'm going to start with that right now, but I can put it on hold if the start of the story is going to lead elsewhere. And sorry about all the name-dropping and background-making; I can't help it. :D Someone had to break the ice. But again, I can rein it in or do some write-ups if need be, as you guys want.

Hmm... so it does, so it does. :) Kinda neat how things just fall together like that.

I'm liking how this is going so far. Admittedly, I've managed to involve myself in every conversation going on thus far, and am involved in two or three at a time... but hey, that's life in a bar, I suppose. :)

Also, one thing that i can immediately see is missing is a nature god, some kind of elf/druid/ranger god for the tree huggers...I mean nature lovers. If its alright, I could create/run the nature god, so that we've got the druid/ranger bunch covered. How bout it GaryH/Creamsteak/whoever's in control? Can I create a god? PLEEEAAASSSEE?

MacBeth, a nature deity wll be fine. Please use the template provided.

I'm going to close the Pantheon for now (just adding MacBeth's deity until further notice), to allow the other Moderators a chance to make their diety and have a breather before we expand that aspect of Living Enworld anymore. Feel free to make suggestions, but I won't be officially accepting any more deities without input from creamsteak.

Just a friendly reminder...

Please put a link to your Living Enworld character's stats in your sig! It'll make it much easier for us to recognize you in a crowded tavern, and those who need to will be able to access your info quickly.

Thanks! :)

While I think it's an interesting idea, GE, I think given the pace of PbP games, waiting till PC's got to epic levels to introduce gods would take just a bit too long. ;)
