I'm back, and wow... crashed boards, posts caught in an incredibly evil time warp... and now I finally can post...
I'll catch up in a bit, but I've got some stuff to point out first that I should have warned Gary about earlier.
1) When we post important information that judges would collect (for instance, your posts in the pantheon thread) we need a seperate nickname that all the judges can log on under. That means that the name and password would be known to Uriel, creamsteak, Garyh, and anyone else as time goes on. That makes changing information much easier for everyone.
2) Character name in your sig is good, important stuff.
3) If you are PLAYING A CHARACTER, feel free to subscribe to threads that are OOC freely. However, only subscribe to IC threads that your character is participating in, and unsubscribe when you leave. That is, when you leave the Red Dragon Inn, you need to hit the unsubscribe button on the bottom of the thread. Then subscribe to your new thread. This isn't so important now, when there are so few IC threads, but it will be important when your character runs a shop, then leaves for an adventure, then drops by the tavern, and such.
We are NOT using the standar manual of the planes word for word. We might borrow some, make up some, change some, destroy some, etc.
It's all about feeling the game out as it creates itself.
As far as introducing higher ECL races...
I was thinking that a player with an 8th level character could possibly retire that character (still run him, but not as an adventurer, stops gaining experience and such), to start a new character at half that level.
So if I'm a 20th level cleric and I have myself pretty comfortable, I can end my experience gaining career to create a character that would have a level or level+ecl of 10.
Not sure about this at all, but it was one thought. We could also attempt a savage species (monsters that level) mechanic, not sure at all like I said.
Also, I'm thinking that you can possibly make some sense out of removing xp costs for crafting magic items. Just a consideration i was thinking about, if we want to have a player dependant society.
