Discussion of Scotley's upcoming 4e Swashbuckler Game

I've played 2 Dwarf Clerics very briefly, a Shifter Cleric in IG's game, a Tiefling Avenger in renau1g's game, and now a Human Paladin in this game. Looks like I'm due for a NON-DIVINE character of some sort, ANY sort!

Instead of the usual L3, L4, L5, L3 of gold, can I get approval for:

+1 Leather Armor of Aegis Expansion (L2)
+1 Farbond Spellblade (L2)
+1 Bracers of Mighty Striking (L2)
Acrobat Boots (L2)
+1 Cloak of Resistance (L2)
Restful Bedroll (L1)

GP 240

My brain is too tired to do that math on that right now. I'll crunch some numbers in the morning, but it seems reasonable.

Save you some time.

+1 Leather Armor of Aegis Expansion (L2) – 520 gp
+1 Farbond Spellblade (L2) – 520 gp
+1 Bracers of Mighty Striking (L2) – 520 gp
Acrobat Boots (L2) – 520gp
+1 Cloak of Resistance (L2) – 520 gp
Restful Bedroll (L1) – 360 gp
Gold – 240 gp

Total = 3200

Level 5 – 1000 gp
Level 4 – 840 gp
Level 3 – 680 gp
Gold – 680 gp

Total = 3200

Thanks! Seems like a reasonable swap to me. I don't know that you will find more lesser items to be more beneficial that a few more powerful items, but it will be interesting to find out.

Didn't know it was allowed. Will maybe do something similar. Still not satisfied with my neck item and some money to buy healing potions would be nice...

I'm almost finished with the polish on my character, Alejandro Arroyo. Still need to finalize exact powers and feats.

I'd like to have a buddy, perhaps a striker, to pair with for combat. My shielding swordmage is designed to defend (prevent damage) and lead/control the battlefield out to 10 squares. He can readily attack out to 5 squares. Many of his powers are designed to move opponents and friends around. Ali doesn't do a lot pf damage, but he is pretty hard to hit.

Another thing I'd like is a practice combat encounter with the whole group. Something like a combined L3/L5 encounter with goblins:

Level 3 Encounter (XP 750)
✦ 2 goblin sharpshooters (level 2 artillery)
✦ 4 goblin warriors (level 1 skirmisher)
✦ 4 goblin cutters (level 1 minion)
Level 5 Encounter (XP 1,000)
✦ 1 goblin hexer (level 3 controller)
✦ 2 goblin skullcleavers (level 3 brute)
✦ 2 goblin sharpshooters (level 2 artillery)
✦ 12 goblin cutters (level 1 minion)

Perhaps the goblins could make a surprise attack on camp or something like that.

I might work for that. Tam's pretty mobile, so can range around during battle, but like any rogue she does well with a flanking buddy for constant sneak attacks.

Aislinn should do alright in melee, but her preference will be to stay at a distance - all of her powers will work from 10 squares away . . . She's got a couple of immediate interrupts, so she'll be at her best when she can see and affect the whole battlefield.
