Its easy! Get a couple pointy things, a little boom stick, a well padded metal thing and some clothes.

I think this is one aspect I really like of 4e, easier equipping heroes. Just make sure you have a weapon with a good proficiency bonus and a level appropriate enhancement on armor, weapon and neck item and you should be good.
