Discussion of Scotley's upcoming 4e Swashbuckler Game

Nice to see you here, Rathan! Unfortunately, we already have quite a big pile of characters already, but whether there's room for one more is Scotley's call, of course. ;)

ALL: I DM'ed for Rathan for a brief spell when I was running some module...what was that one called? Oh yes, "Hall of the Rainbow Mage!" Shame we never finished that one....

May I officially move Malkyr's initiative just before the enemies actions?

His class feature allows him to kill an enemy, if it's HP are 10 or less after his attack, so going last would max it's advantage.

Now that I'm back from being out of town and had a chance to review the combat, Ali's action last round needs to be changed.

1. If the orc at K14 was already dead, then Ali can't use his daily power on him. That attack needs to change to Lightning Lure on the orc that ended up on L13. A hit will move him to K13 next to Ali at J14.

2. Which orc hit Colin? Was it that one that Ali marked? If so, then he was at -2 to hit and damage is reduced by 7 hp. If not, then the orc that thinks he hit Colin may have missed due to Ali's immediate interrupt--that attack probably hits another orc instead.

Yes! Save the poor dwarf from these evil orcs!

Actually, if that damage doesn't happen to Colin, he probably wouldn't need to Second Wind on his turn. If that's the case, that's the only thing that will change about his turn.

Skip that. If only 7 damage is removed from Colin, he is still down to 24/45hp and dangerously close to bloodied. He would Second Wind anyway. I just need to know whether he ends up with 28 (his current total without the swordmage knocking off 7 from the axe attack) or 35 (if the swordmage was able to take 7 damage off the axe attack).

In my last Dark Sun session, I killed 3/4 PCs. Luckily, one of the players who runs a leader was missing and I had said that the missing PCs were with the rest of them but "sunstroked" and unable to act. I allowed one of the PCs to survive by retconning that the sunstroked leader managed to get off a heal before returning to uselessness.

I asked this in the main thread, but it probably more properly belongs here:

Did Malkyr kill the archer he shot at? I need to know before I post my turn, since my action will be very different depending on if said archer is living or dead.

Game full? Thought I'd check :)

We have 10 characters in the game already and at least one alternate. I'm sorry to say that's a full house. If I manage to kill or run off several characters I'll keep you in mind. A vote of confidence from Leif means you'd likely be a good addition to the group.

Actually, it was the one that hit Lucien. Immediate interrupts are the bane of 4e pbp DM's! He did hit despite the -2.

Well, you did have the ambush all set up and ready to go. :D

Don't trust people saying 4e is too easy. ;)

I have to say that I did set you guys up. I figured that a band of eager swashbucklers would come crashing through the front doors into the hail of arrows. You seem to be getting back into control of the fight though. Guess I'll have to play my next trick soon...
