there is a pretty balanced feature of the Waterdeep guild wizards called Focused Dispel gives you +2 to caster level checks (that I think may exeed the limit). You can make that a feat! EASY.
There should be another step in the Improved counterspell feat chain too. Mastery of counterspelling!
Featchain: Imp. Init, Imp. CS, reactive CS, Mastery of CS.
prerequisite: cast 7th or (6th) level spells.
I hope they do it one day
focused dispel could have a improved version too, but should require Skillfocus Spellcraft as prereq...imho as counterspelling is a hella powerful option. In fact it ignore spellpower and spellfocus completly!
