District B13

This just came out on DVD this week in the US, and just got it from Netflix, and I have to say, I was kinda underwhelmed. It had a lot of hype as being such a great action movie, but most of the action happened in the first 20 minutes.

Is it just me? I really did like it at first, but after the chase scene in the begining, I was expecting a really amazing finale, like something out of a John Woo movie. Or at least the Transporter series. But

Instead of fighting their way in, or sneaking their way in, they just call up the bad guy to surrender to him.

And once inside, they just sneak away. Meanwhile, the bad guy's minion turn on the villain (basically deus ex machina).

And the fight scene vs the big fat guy guarding the missile was over way too quick.

What a let down. I don't think the body count in the movie was even into double figures.

And the sister character was just a big waste. She was the most interesting character in the movie, but then she disappears for much of it.

And what's the deal with the camera through the pipe/into the building shots and European movies? This is the 3rd one I've seen in the last few months that had them (Nightwatch and Bloodrayne), while I don't think I've seen anything from Hollywood or HK or Japan use them

Yah, I thought it was terrible, too. I wasn't expecting much really, but I did think there would be more buliding jumping scenes. The dialogue was delivered at the same tone as well, no matter what was occuring on screen at the time. Kinda funny actually.

First flick I can recall using this sorta bit was Fight Club. I have seen it in other movies lately as well.
