(the other gods from those articles are of races that were never made “official” in D&D, thus I am not dealing with them – there are enough anyway, as it is.) ;)

I'll comment on the Dragon gods shortly, but I wanted to mention a few things first.

This issue had the article "Magic of the Seldarine", and had four minor elven deities (listed here in alphabetical order): Alathrien Druanna, demigoddess of conjurations, rune magic, and geometric magic; Darahl Firecloak, demigod of earth and flame phenomena, Earth/Fire magic; Mythrien Sarath, demigod of protection, abjuration magic, and mythals; and Sarula Iliene, lesser goddess of lakes, streams, nixies, and water magic.

They were official since the AD&D articles in White Dwarf were official content. And there are never enough. :p

cool. :) i'm sure i have this issue somewhere... but since it's not on the CD-rom, i'd have to go find it. ;)

there are enough for me, which may be more important than you realize. ;) but hey, if we finish all the others in this thread first, then i promise we'll go back and hit up the rest of them. :)

First of all, Knightfall, thank you for all that information. However, it is a hell of a lot of information, and it might take me awhile to get through it all to figure out what I need and what I already know, and what I want to throw out. ;)

You're welcome, I was happy to help in that way. And you're right, it is A LOT of information. My head hurt just after going through the first page of the thread. (Ow.)

I'm not likely to be much help beyond what I've already brought to the table as I never really delved into Deities and Demigods for the purposes of figuring out DvRs. I'm more a "details" person when it comes to deities, not hard and fast "rules". Basically, I know some basics. :D

I might pop in from time to time to see how things are developing, however.

Cheers!

OK, i didn't really take the time to look these over carefully. if you have the source material, or would just like to hazard a guess based on what info you do have, feel free to post an estimated DvR. otherwise, i will try to find the time to have a look at them and post an estimation of my own in the not too distant future.

Sarula Iliene (elf) - Demigoddess of lakes, streams, nixies, and water magic
Darahl Firecloak (elf) - Demigod of earth and flame phenomena and related magic - DvR 5 since it seems that he was either a demoted Lesser power, and/or on the rise to Lesser.
Alathrien Druanna - Demigoddess of conjurations, rune magic, geometric magic
Dukagsh (scro) - Demipower of the physical, mental, spiritual, cultural, and military excellence of the scro

The White Dwarf gods were designed apart from any other god that would come later, thus we have gods for aarakocra and bullywugs that differ from those that appear in Monstrous Mythology. They are primarily racial patron gods, and no real portfolio is given for them, except for perhaps what can be gleaned from the text.
K'ooriall (aarakocra) - Lesser

T'Ka-Boolk'na (crabmen) - Demigod

if you need, i can post more details later, when i'm not so busy, even if that is a long time into the future. :)

Dakarnok (kobold) - Demigod, hero god

I'm going to say that he's probably a 4. Dakarnok is the god of (from what I can interpret) causing havoc among humanoids (especially gnomes). It strikes me that this is a god that kobolds want to emulate, even if they can't (they seem more like trap-makers than run-amokers).

Tapann (korred) - Lesser god

I'm going to go with 7, just because korred seem like a minor race, and because they have since gotten another deity (Damh) that seems to be doing just as good a job.

Ravanna (rakshasa)- Lesser god (actually in issue #84)

Ravanna was also in Dragon #326 in "The Ecology of the Rakshasa". That aside, I'd guestimate his DvR as being a solid 8. He's got enough worshippers and power to be solidly in his current rank, but nowhere near enough (possibly also from opposition from other gods such as Vishnu) to climb to Intermediate deity.

Aslak (uldra) - Greater god, patron of uldras

DvR 18. He's a pantheon head, but it's a minor pantheon, relatively speaking, which is why I'm not saying 19.

Maitak (uldra) - Demigod of nature and mountains

I'd say 5 here. Maitak seems like he'd be popular with the fey uldra. This is just my vague recollection of the article though.

Salturen (uldra) - Lesser god of justice
Talminen (uldra) - Lesser god of freedom

DvR 9, for the same reasons as above.

Krocaa (aarakocra) - Lesser god

I'm going to say 6, since this god just seems like he's being replaced almost totally by Syranita.

Araleth Letheranil (elf) - Lesser god of light (also starlight and twilight)
Kirith Sotheril (elf) - Lesser goddess of magic (particularly divination and enchantment)
Melira Taralen (elf) - Lesser goddess of fine arts (half-elven bards, elven minstrels, and songwriting)
Naris Analor (elf) - Lesser god of healing, suffering, and death (and easing of pain)
Tarsellis Meunniduin (snow elves) - Lesser god of mountains and wilderness (and rivers)
Rillifane Rallathil (wood elves) - Intermediate god of woodlands and nature

For Araleth, I'd say 7, since the elves seem like they'd venerate the sun as part of nature. For Kirith, DvR 8, since elves love magic, and divination seems right up their alley. The same thing applies to Melira and the fine arts, so 8 also. Naris seems more like a 7 to me, since the end of life isn't something they'd seem to want to think about, no matter how much he eases it for them. Tarsellis is a 6 I'd say, since the snow elves don't seem numerous enough to maintain anything more than that. As for Rillifane. I'd give him a solid 15, since not only is he the patron of a major subrace, but also the nature that elves love.

Thrig'ki (neogi) - Lesser god of envy, jealousy, hatred
P'kk (neogi) - Lesser god of fear and tyranny
T'zen'kil (neogi) - Lesser god of torture, pain, and suffering
Kr'tx (neogi) - Lesser god of war, brutality, and strength
Kil'lix (neogi) - Lesser god of death, murder, and poison

None of these gods are particularly well detailed in the article that gave us their names and portfolios. Since they'd likely kill one of their number that seemed to weaken any, I'd say they're all DvR 8.

Rellavar Danuvien (elf) - Lesser god of frost sprites and protection from the elements (cold in particular)

Seems like a 6 to me. Frost sprites are rare, and other elves just don't seem to need that much protection from the elements.

Tethrin Veraldé (elf) - Demigod of bladesingers and swordsmanship

Seems like a 4 to me. If it was just bladesingers, I'd go with 3, but since all elves seem to know how to use a sword, he'd probably be a bit more popular.

The Forgotten God (yakfolk) - Demigod

A solid 2. To me, any god that is the patron of a race, but the race is very minor, is a 2 unless there are other circumstances.

Mythrien Sarath (elf) - Demigod of protection and abjuration magic, Mythals
Sarula Iliene (elf) - Demigoddess of lakes, streams, nixies, and water magic
Darahl Firecloak (elf) - Demigod of earth and flame phenomena and related magic - DvR 5 since it seems that he was either a demoted Lesser power, and/or on the rise to Lesser.
Alathrien Druanna - Demigoddess of conjurations, rune magic, geometric magic

As I recall, Mythrien is searching for an artifact that would let him get his lost divine ranks back to make it back to lesser god. I'd put him at a 5 for that.

Sarula seems like a 3 to me, since nixies and water magic are minor, but not so much as to be forgotten.

Darahl was a lesser deity until he touched an artifact (the something Rose) that drove his avatar into a killing frenzy, and he lost popularity because of that. He's trying to remake his image with his current name and such. I'd put him at a 4, but not quite back up to being a 5 yet.

Alathrien is the elven demigoddess of some rather esoteric forms of magic. I'd put her at a 2, and the only reason it isn't a 1 is because she has conjuration in there.

Dukagsh (scro) - Demipower of the physical, mental, spiritual, cultural, and military excellence of the scro

Definately a 5. While this seems to fly in the face of what I said about patrons of a minor race, I'd say the scro aren't so minor. They completely rule their crystal sphere and their world. In essence, there's an entire solar system of scro that worship no one other than Dukagsh. He'd probably be a much stronger deity, except that the scro have only been around for two hundred fifty years or so (since Dukagsh died as a mortal).

K'ooriall (aarakocra) - Lesser

A 6, as he's even lesser than Krocaa.

Ggorulluzg (bullywugs, god of swamps) - Demigod

I'd say 3, just because bullywugs seem not quite as rare as some of the other races listed here.

T'Ka-Boolk'na (crabmen) - Demigod
Phraarkilloorm (dire corbies) - Demigod
Hrussiall'k (firenewts) - Lesser
Kraada (frostmen) - Demigod

All 2, for the above reasons.

Zrunta Mountainheart (mountain giants) - Lesser

This god seems more like an 8 at least, since mountan giants aren't so easily discounted.

Klagg (grimlocks) - Demigod

I'd give Klaag a 1, because for one thing, it says many grimlocks worship other evil powers. It also mentions that he's a daemon (yugoloth) who managed to become a demigod, which seems almost oxymoronic to me...like he somehow went against his nature. Definately a 1.

Halnass and Quorggg (lava children) - Demigods
Firffuffl'nnb (norkers) - Demigod
Ullathimon (skulks) - Demigod
A'Gallamiull (xvarts) - Lesser

Again, all 2's.

since you seem to have studied the material, and i can't really disagree with anything you posted, i'll go with what you have there. anyone else, feel free to disagree and we can debate.

at the moment, i don't have the time or energy to start a conversion thread, but it won't be too far off (sometime in May, if at all possible). so, feel free to debate any DvR suggestions in this thread (remember, at this point, they are only suggestions), and you will see a thread for converting gods eventually, based on what we have decided here.
