divine spontaneous casting class ???

Hi all, I am looking into making a Mystic Thurge as my next PC. We are starting at 4th level, so it’ll be a while before s/he can get into the Prc.

But, I hate, hate, hate, playing characters that prepare spells. So the arcane half will be sorcerer. Does anyone know of a divine spontaneous casting class other than Shukenja from the Oriental Adventures? The DM has nixed a sorcerer / shukenja so I need something else.

Thanks all!

favored soul, but you are looking at a very high level if you are going for mystic theurge.

At that point though i would suggest favored soul and warmage combo ;)

There is the variant in UA. Basically it uses the Sorcerers spells known and spells per day instead of the Clerics.
Funny, an hour ago, we created a UA 4th level spontaneous cleric as a cohort.

Looks pretty well balanced. It doesn't use the number of spells per day of the sorc though.

And ya know, it's funny. I've tried this with the Wizard to get a Sorcerer and it doesn't seem to be working. :p

Go get Unearthed Arcana, that has rules for a spontaneous cleric. And for a divine BArd, as well.

Dragonlance has the Mystic, which is a single-domain divine Sorceror style caster.

Dragon #311 or #312 (I forget which) had the comparatively-broken Evangelist - cleric-list divine sorceror-style spellcasters with MANY domains (they start with two and get more as they gain levels).

I'm probably wrong, but isn't there one in the Miniatures Handbook?

That would be the favored soul that I mentioned earlier, along with the warmage. A great combo for theurge if you are going for all spontaneous casters.
