[DM gripe/rant] I'm beginning to notice some trends...

The status quo is the status quo because it's the status quo, and this is the way we play the status quo, and if you don't like the status quo and you want to play D&D then you'll just have to deal with it.
I know. Your point?

Dropping out of HS was a life decision I made based on my emotional status at that point in time. It has nothing to do with intelligence.

So for all please do not equate life decisions with any kind of innate abilities and I think we'll all be a bit better off.
Heh, I did the same and I wouldn't say I'm stupid either. Others would, but I wouldn't :)

And just to clear something up: the original gist of this thread was a DM frustration over extremes and trends in players to play characters they know nothing about or are entirely unsuited for.

Yes, it's a game of imagination, but I think there are limits. And I think it is the extremes that make the game unenjoyable. It's simply no fun for me to watch a player repeatedly go against any sort of code of honour and yet him repeatedly play a paladin.

Don't let me stop me you from viewing my words in the worst possible light. I made a mistake, and I apologised for it. Feel free to harangue further.
I did not intend to offend and if I have I am sorry. I was kidding around because generally speaking I think calling people pathetic trolls is pretty funny. I'd assumed you'd meant it as a joke in the first place.

If you're continuing the joke (of over-the-top petty insults) then that's all fine. If you think however that I am in fact trying to be offensive please understand that I am not.

It's often hard to judge what people are indicating through their posts and I don't want to have misunderstood you. I tend towards a sarcastic mode of expression and I can understand if you thought I was mocking you. I was not, and I am sorry if you thought so.
