Dmg II

It's half -- half -- HALF a book in one! ;) Considering it takes two books to tell what the 1st ed. DMG to tell in one, this is the half I've been waiting for a while now.

I generally agree. In fairness, though, I think this one may take the good parts (those left out in 3.x) of the 1E DMG, update them, and build from there. At least, it has the opportunity to do so.

Hmm, rolling 8 then 14 on the random tavern name generating table produces . . . "The Wet Wench."
Personally I much like the "Sleeping Wench" (17 +14): for adventurers who aren't too thirsty, since the wench is not in a hurry to serve the customers. :D

The DMG2 looks really, really interesting. :)

I think Henry is being extremely kind about the 1st edition DMG. Although there are parts of it I find inspirational, unfortunately much of the rules material is badly organised and written.

Cheers!

I would agree wholeheartedly with the 1E DMG being poorly organized. I couldn't find what I was looking for if my life depended on it. But I did like a lot of the crunch in it.

The 1e DMG is just one of those books you have to admire... if not really use. I've been able to glean a lot of good advice and flavor from it, but only once did I go into it with a certain goal in mind and came up with it.

But more 1e DMG style flavor in the DMGII is great. At first I wasn't looking forward to this book, but I think I'm probably going to pick it up now.

Demiurge out.
