Let people know that you will take comments about rules issues but reserve the right to say "This is how I am ruling now, we can discuss the rules issue after the game/combat is over."
Tell people that grubbing for OOC info will not fly. No need to curse him, just tell him it is something to find out in game in character.
If you want them to roleplay naive 1st level characters who don't know the abilities of a troll, then tell them that upfront so they can start play with that mindset from the get go.
