The Society leapt from the pages for me. They'll be integral to the campaign. I gave Grazilaxx a pet intellect devourer called Crotex and have him tracking maddened purple worms through the Underdark as a means of studying what is happening. The party came upon him just after escaping such a creature and he was quite civil, despite Buppido and JimJar cowering at the back of the party. None of the PC's except the paladin knew what a mind-flayer was, and he didn't arrive until a few minutes into the conversation. The scene was wonderfully tense and very well played by everyone.

Very cool, thanks. :)

need some help with script.
One of the players is a paladin that lost his memory, he don't remember anything before arrive in velkynvelve except some flashs about a city tower (his background). His aligment is lawful good, but the problem is the player ins't liking much of play a lawful good character.

He's going to lvl 3, and want to choose Oath of Vegeance. I'm thinking in the plot, make Buppido show with rituals the "true oath" the oath of vegeance, manipulating the PC to be his paladin, changing a little bit his aligment.
Of course his real aligment is lawful good, and that personality conflict with a dose of Underdark madness will spice things up.

Any additional ideas to that plot, or some restrictions? I have sure the player will like this change.

What alignment does he want to shift to? Depending on that, he might need to get a new deity as well (as much as Buppido wants worshippers, he's not exactly an ideal choice).

So in the last adventure, I threw in an undead drow settlement on the way to Neverlight Grove. Feeling humorous, I included a tavern where some friendly undead hung out. The bartender poured “spidertinis” for the adventurers.

As a "players' handout" I made spidertini shots to give to the group and thought I'd share the recipe. I made it in bulk, but a single serving was more or less this:

1 oz ouzo
.25 oz water
barspoon-to-.25 oz midori

Add the ouzo and water in a shaker with ice. Shake and until louched (cloudy and white), then strain into a clear shot glass. Slowly drizzle the midori into the shot glass. This should create green tendrils at the bottom of the drink, giving the drink a rather eerie look. Serve and enjoy.

the Bulpiddo idea was to come the completly opposit to lawful good, chaotic evil. Probably in the end the PC will stay in "neutral", after Buppido die/leave. But I'll incite him to pass for different behaviors each moment until he discover himself (if madness allow).

Re: paladin

I think there's two different things going on here.

Firstly I would simply suggest letting the player switch alignments / religion to something that resonates better. Covering up a player's disconnect with his character suffering amnesia would seem to an unsatisfactory way of doing that.

Remember that in 5e any of the three Oaths can be any of the nine alignments, although some do mesh more obviously with some alignments than others.
I've successfully played a Lawful Good paladin of Vengeance (Dirty Harry template) and a Chaotic Neutral paladin of Devotion (Conan template, by Crom!)

Now alignment change and/or amnesia as a long-term insanity? Sure.

But I think it works better as something for an NPC.

In my campaign (if you read above), that's basically what I have had happen to Prince Derendil and Shuushar. Their true alignments are "Quaggoth" and "Arch-priest of Blibdoolpoolp", albeit I have decided that the madness has been turned up to eleven and can't be removed by the regular methods (unless I want it to, for story reasons)

IIRC in OOTA, the derro are unaffected by the Madness, since they are bugnuts to begin with. I tweaked Buppido to have him lured / turned crazy(ier) by the Demon Lord of Lies and Deception (Grazz't), since I felt that worked better.

So there's nothing wrong with what you are proposing, but I would think again.

the oath part isn't really important, is just what the player want.

About the rest, is one good hook that I was thinking to change a lawful good to evil. I'll probably try, if the player doesn't like the bipolarity, is just break Buppido manipulation.

I currently have the party traveling from Slooplidoop to Gracklstugh. Along the way they have met drow traders on their way to Velk. The drow warned them that their pathway leads them to the caves of the dead. A passage of caves that is a shortcut, but also a battlefield in recent times. The passages are filled with the risen dead and will include "Death House" in a fallen dark elf settlement. (Obviously some story will be changed). Basically, Orcus has caused major problems with areas infected with the dead.

Nice! I have to say I wish OOTA had more Orcus in it. I definitely want to work in those undead mindflayers at some point later on.
