DM's: Do you have trouble giving up the DM-reigns?

No. Because I like playing as a PC also.
From the Red Box set until 3E I was only the DM since no one else wanted to be. I never got to play as a player for all those years.
When 3E came out I went in search of a new group (my old one died out at this point) and the current group I have has two other DM's in it.
I played for 1 year before I DMed again. It was great. Now we each run our own individual campaigns for about 3 months at a time then switch for a while.
I am having the best time I have ever had and the breaks give me time to evaluate where my campaign is going and tweak it if needed.
Also after 3 months we like to get the reigns back ;)

If you are our group's usual dungeon master, do you have trouble letting other people take over for a while?
No. I tell my players all the time that they are free to DM if any of them would like to. Take my game... please! ;)

"We don't want to - it's too much work." No kidding, wankers.

I don't have a problem giving up the reins. Our campaign has three people who rotate DM duties off and on. I am more 'on' than 'off' than the others but I enjoy those times I get to sit across from the DM screen, not behind it.

When I get into the game, I keep narrating other PC's and NPC's actions. When someone does something cool, I say, "Cool! You do it <like this>!"
