Actually, no.

Translation: I have nothing intelligent to say, so I'll just burble on for a bit. Please don't mind me.
Cute, but over-emphasised. I'm not wanting the game to be perfect, just an acknowledgement that it wasn't (and still won't be) as balanced as some folks like to claim.
Since you've said already that you won't be playing it as given out of the box, why do you care?
After all, that is the point of this debate between you and I, is it not?
I know EXACTLY what the point of this debate between me and you is. Do you?
It's not a strawman, it's fact. Don't cry a river because you can't disprove it.
D00d, I repeat, we are talking about balance, not flavour. Please not to evade the issue, EVEN if that really is a strawman in your pants.
It does.
No it doesn't.
Gee, won't this get us far?
Well, by my calculations, it's WABBIT season!
WotC has stated, plain and clearly, that parts of the game were broken, that spell schools weren't balanced, that metamagic feats need fixing, etc. That makes that game broken.
Exactly how does "parts of the game are broken" lead to "the game is broken"?
No, it's not unplayable,
Exactly.
but it's far from balanced
No, it's not "far from balanced", unless you subscribe to the Bendris Noulg school of creative exaggeration.
(thus, games based on those same rules are also far from balanced).
Yes, dear.
Gee, did I say that..? Let's see here... Oh, golly gee willerkers, I didn't say that at all.
Oh, but I beg to differ. I'm sure you wouldn't say stuff like "Rangers, Bards and Barbarians are under-powered. Anyone with Ambidexterity and Two-Weapon Fighting has one Feat for the price of two. Buff spells last far too long." in the context of showing 3E is broken, unless you meant to imply that 3E was all about these particular cases.
Unless, of course, you were TROLLING! Please DO NOT TROLL, Bendris "Noulg", if that is your REAL chocolate filling. Because that's MY schtick.
Time for you to put your own strawmen away.
You first.
It's well balanced unless you like, as you put it, "cheese".
If you want to keep rolling around in cheese, expect to smell a bit. Personally, I just move on.
Yes, and it's about time they showed it.
Yes, dear. If those grapes were any more sour, they'd be dissolving through your tongue.
I'm not asking them to be perfect. I'm asking for the Preachers of Balance to put their D&D Bibles away because their arguements are void by the fact that the balance they preach isn't perfect.
Jody Butt does this better than you.
I guess you allowed yourself to get side-tracked a bit for some reason.
Only if you keep it up. I'll have you arguing that 3E IS perfect within ten followups, at this rate.

Tsk tsk...
Might I suggest English lessons instead?
You need to stop talking to yourself. It's a terribly rude habit.
If the book is really needed, then they aren't the "minor changes" you'd like to claim.
Are you finished munching on those grapes yet?
Call it an educated guess.![]()
