DnD 3.5 The Wonders of Syrael [closed!]

I saw my fighter/rogue as a duelist of sorts. That could be a reason why he's found himself in trouble. I thought he could have a prior relationship with one of the other PCs, as he travels in urban and upper-class circles. We'll see how I roll for stats before getting too into the character. If he gets a poor charisma, for instance, he may be more the brooding swordsman than witty swashbuckler. I should be able to post a character sheet tonight.

Lot: duelist sounds like an excelent idea, as well as being a prior friend to another PC. I was hoping i could lean that direction, as making 3-4 realisticlly convergent storylines is much easier than making 6-7! :D Also, both the witty swashbuckler and brooding swordsman would be great personalities. Kudos, and a character sheet would be greatly appriciated.

Rhun: OK, ill get that rogues gallery thread up, is everyone going to post their characters there? or in this thread? Probably you all can just go drop it in there, ill link once it's made.

And about the animal companion, what would you consider switching it tword? I probably would lean away from a big change, but I could see a little bit of a bouns elsewhere, and then giving you a small/annoying creature as your companion. That would make for good roleplay. *grins*

The normal house rule is to trade the animal companion for a feat...if that is okay with you? If not, I'll stick with the animal companion. I just despise the thought of every druid and ranger in the world running around with a companion.

Ok Rhun, what feat were you thinking? and i guess with that veiw, you wouldnt like the little, annoying companion. :P

And Al, I dont think i've ever made a character off the first set of stats ive rolled. :D as long as you are prepareed to roleplay the 8 cha, that looks OK. Slightly high, but i like the low cha downside. Probably fitting, IC.

Oh, and the Rogues Gallery character posting area is up and ready, this is the URL:here

The Compiled table of Contents can be sen in the 'Playing the game' forum at The Divine Records of Exalted Deeds and Vile Darkness

Still in the process of putting together the crunch, so I'll let you know on the feat. I'd be okay with a small annoying companion...what are you thinking?

ionno, like a small lizard or rat. Perhaps a crow that spouts bad language at inopportune times. It would be interesting to roleplay, and if you went with it i could see a little more leeway on the free feat.

I'm totally down for that. I think a crow with Teret's Syndrome would be a great role-playing addition.

By the way, something has always annoyed me about spell progression:

0-level spell slots don't benefit from a high casting Attribute.

Could we fix that? The logical progression would be that a caster gets an extra 0-level slot when the Attribute in question is 10, and an extra 0-level slot for each additional 8 points in that Attribute.

And, while I'm proposing houserules, can we say that an inherent increase in Int provides retroactive skill points where appropriate? (Maybe gained on level-up?)

And speaking of level-up, is it going to be an MMORPG ding!, or will we need to find some downtime? If the second(which I'm in favor of for spellcasters, I can see the physical types going the other way), I'd prefer that xp continue to accrue.

And an observation about combat - it tends to be slow in forum gaming, so I suggest everyone try to plan ahead what their character is doing, providing if...then statements to cover how a PC reacts to potential changes in the combat. With practice and experience, this makes it possible to run 5 or more rounds every day.
