DnD 3.5 - Valley of the Dead

So yesh, Zinerath is not too much of a team player, expect him to play like a rogue and always maneuver around for a flank, or other, personal advantage. it's not that he won't move in when he needs to to defend an ally, or give flanking bonuses, but he dos not like the whole "stand in a line and wait for them to charge in strait up" thing, he likes to be moving about, hard to pin down, and loves the high ground, and if the enemy already has the high ground, he will take the higher ground as soon as devilishly possible;)
[note that no part of the plane stated where he should be, thus he took his favored spot: The higher ground!B-)]

Basically, think of him as charge Calvary, that can almost fly:D

EN WORLD IS SO SLOOOOW! :erm:

Wow... Now I'm beginning to get why HM left. Anyway, let us do our best and post when we can. There's a map of the area in the IC on the previous page. The barn is tall, about 20 or so feet at a glance.

Yes, it is really slow. Also, I find the dice roll function a nuisance. If you're having multiple actions, it is all over your post and overshadows the text. I really prefer Mythweavers' look.

*After cutting the zombie in halves, Thok turns, performing a cleaving move, and sinks his blade down in the Spammer's belly, gutting him as he retrieves the blade with a brutal pull.*

Also, did the thing even fully exit the barn? Depened on if Zinerath was alowed to open the barn doors at 15 or 10 feet, away, the large undead might even still be in the doorway(this is asuming it has and used a 10' reach, but given that Rufus could attack, means it is either has a 5' space between itself and the barn or it's right next to the barn door...
In either case it would have moved through a square Zinerath threatens and should have been subject to an AoO: the great reach lasts 1 round, not one action/attack and makes no mention of being limited to attacking only :3
Yep, He can randomly AoO from 15' away :D
_

Also, could Zinerath make a leap attack by landing to one side of the undead thing or dos he have to move directly towards it without overshooting it?

I forgot that it can attack Rufus without him being able to hit back due to it having greater reach (Dragonwriter: does your character have any means to get reach atm?)

AFAIK charge does not trigger an AOO - moving inside a threatened area does nothing, moving out or past it triggers it. But having no map makes it hard for me to figure out if that thing ever needed to pass into Zinerath's threatened area with it's reach. If Rufus is right next to the barn, then it would still be inside, making all this moot.

Where was Rufus standing at round 1?

Rufus should have been about 10-15 feet away from the barn doors.
As for fixing the issue... Perhaps, rather than Charge, it took a normal Move and completely closed with Rufus so as to keep him in its reach in case he tried to escape? Basically the same result. :)

The thing is, without the charge Zinerath would not have been able to hit it's AC. :D

Anyway, if Rufus is 15 feet from the barn doors then it has passed trough Zinerath's threatened square. If it used a move action and a regular attack instead of a charge he'd have missed, so let's just go with giving him that one attack and moving forward.

This is a very melee-centric party, you guys dish out a ton of damage per round, you should be fine vs. a single opponent either way. But be on your toes!

Oh, also, how does Zinerath get +16 to his damage roll with only 18 STR?

Str: +4[13]
Masterwork weapon +1[14]
Flanking +2 [16]
Also, given the creature is large and that it has to clear the barn to be attacked by rufus, there is no remaining placement combination were Zinerath cannot move into a flanking position with someone. ^_^
Also, I did not even factor in the damage from Rufus's tactic's of the wolf ^_^;
