The Psion enjoys much strength as a class but powerful high level powers are not one of them. Don't get me wrong they can augment like no other but and a big BUTT at that the high end starting at 7th and gaining impotence thru the 9th seem to have the class tapering off a bit at the end with augmentation of lower level powers being their saving grace.
The arcane casters Wizard/Sorcerer seem to enjoy incredibly powerful spells and a huge pool from which to choose (with all the variety of sources considered) at high levels, better more powerful, more to choose from creates a better tailor fitted selection the Psion just can’t compete with. Wiz/Sorc seem to be in a power struggle with the Psion thru out mid levels basically equal in strengths. But the Psion IME has hands down dominated thru the low levels.
Is it just me or is this the maker’s way of balancing the Psion? Or have I just simply not played enough high level campaigns involving Psion’s?
