Do these Riddles work? MY PLAYERS STAY OUT!

IMHO, #1 was fine the first time. I got "lies" out of it.

Here's what I answered before reading the rest of the thread.

1. Prejudice
2. Cowardice or Apathy
3. Pride
4. Fate/destiny

I got lies, cowardice and pride for the first three riddles. I didn't get the fourth.

I warn of danger with loathed report.
I bring forth truth, but no comfort.
I herald new life and life's last breath.
To ignore my warning is to invite death.

I'm guessing the answer to this is "pain".

Overall, I quite like the riddles. Tough, but not too difficult. Hope they go down well with your group, though - riddles are chancy things, especially if you're catering to a group of butt-kickers instead of problem solvers. It might be good to give them three chances somehow, if you're quite hung up on specific words, or have another clue (e.g. the first letter of the answer is also engraved on the rods).
