I just bought an '85 copy of Lankhmar: City of Adventure, as it's something I've always wanted. That map is sweet! Am I alone in my interest in old stuff? I'm also thinking of selling my AD&D collection, but if there's no interest, I'll just donate to a library or something.

There's a lot of Planescape stuff I'd be interested in. I would also be interested in the entire run of the oD&D gazetteers. But honestly, that'd be something I'd read once and shelve.

Some of the best stuff for imagination, etc came out back then so why not.

After all I'm running my campaign using the same Wilderlands of High Fantasy setting I used for OD&D, even if its now with the 3 and a half rules.

I think it is more a matter of what old stuff would I want that I don't already have. There are a few things but for the most part I have way enough Old stuff. When I get somewhere I can store it with easy access again and not buried in a closet I'll pull it out and read it again.

I love the old stuff. A lot of what I have is falling apart from many years of loving use. I am always looking for copies in better condition for collection purposes.

When it comes to old D&D stuff, there are books I buy for nostalgia (Fiend Folio), and books I buy because I enjoy reading them (Legends and Lore), and books I buy for inspiration in the currant game (Greyhawk Adventures, Book of Artifacts, etc.)

While I did play 2nd ed, I didn't have the money to buy anything other than the core books; I played 1st ed too, but I was to young to care much about buying books.

There are "old" books I still use religiously as reference sources

like

2E Complete Dwarven Handbook
1E Fiend Folio (best monster supplement ever)
1E Deities & Demi-Gods
1E Dungeon Master's Guide (still the best of the DMGs)
2E Aurora Whole Realms Catalog (most versatile FR product)

I would love to have the Basic D&D Gazeteers
