Do you get an AoO when denied your Dexterity bonus?

Don't have my books, so can't give you a page number.

IIRC, you don't get an AoO, unless you have the Combat Reflexes feat.

Note that even rogues and barbarians don't get an AoO, but with Uncanny Dodge they are unlikely to lose their Dex bonus to AC (except to hold person spells, but then they're dead anyway).

Also note that monks retain their Wis bonus to AC if surprised or flat-footed, but can't make an AoO unless they've got Combat Reflexes.

If a psion uses shield of prudence of combat precognition, or a parrying weapon, they gain an insight bonus to AC but are still flat-footed and can't make the AoO unless they've got Combat Reflexes.

There's a psionic power called prowess that can give you a bonus AoO as a fre action, but you still can't use it if you're flat-footed or surprised.

The only way to get the AoOs is to use Combat Reflexes or the foregsight spell or power.

#1: If you are caught in a hold person spell, you lose your Dex bonus to AC, even if you aren't flat-footed. Also, if you are asleep, have been pinned in a grapple, paralyzed, etc.

#2: The difference between surprise and flat-footed is small but important. In the suprise round, if you failed your Listen or Spot check (and don't have Blindsight or Scent) then you are suprised and lost your Dex bonus to AC. In the first full round of combat, you are flat-footed until your Initiative comes up. So if a rogue surprises you (and sneak attacks you), then your Initiative fails to beat theirs, they can unload a full-round sneak attack on you while you are flat-footed.

You're missing his point. If you check in the PHB under flat-footed it says that one who is flat-footed cannot make AoOs. Now check under the section in Combat under Attacks of Oppurtunity. It never says anything about not being able to make AoOs if you are denied your dex bonus. Therefore, the only time you are disallowed the ability to make AoOs is when you are flat-footed, against someone who has 1/2 or better cover, or helpless. So, just being denied your dex bonus does not prevent you from making AoOs. This makes sense since someone with a +4 dex bonus still reacts faster than someone with a -2 dex bonus when both are denied their dex bonus. If there's a rule I missed somewhere, feel free to point me to it.
