do you have to use your primary attack first?

Can a fighter with +15/+10/+5 decide to use his +5 attack then his +10 then his +15? or in any order? or do they have to be in diminishing order?

They are in order, that's why they are printed that way. Otherwise you'd have people tripping with the last attack (it's only touch, it's easy to succeed) and thjen pounding away with the better ones.

i don't want to be argumentative, but just because they're printed in order isn't necessarily a good reason. i know you know a whole lot about D&D...cause you're almost always the one that answers my posts. so for now i suppose i'll accept that. does anyone else have a differing opinion or heard something from a definitive source?

Be arguemenative, it's okay. Just becaue I answer questions does not mean I'm always right. If you look through all the books they are all listed the same way. I don't know if it is ever specifically written that they have to come in this order, I think that it just does. Maybe it's an oversight of the books, or we are all making rash assumptions.

Out of curiosity, what do you want to do that would require attacking in reverse order of bonuses?

see...you were right Crothian. and all i wanted to do was use True Strike on the weakest attack when I power attack. nothing special or new.

Eh? You could just have your spellcaster buddy ready to cast the spell after you attack twice. ;)

Carry on.
