Bearing in mind that this is primarily a D&D messageboard, I was curious whether or not most D&D players only play D&D -- and if not, how many of us primarily play D&D.

I primarily play D&D, and I pretty much always have. My other longtime favorite game is Call of Cthulhu, but I don't get to play or run that quite as often. There's a whole host of other things I've played over the years, but none of them have eclipsed D&D as my main game of choice.

Mostly DnD, although here soon we're going to be playing Spycraft (albeit highly modified and forged into Shadowrun D20). There's a conversion that was hard work...

D&D has worked well for us since 3E, but we're finding the need to diversify a bit. All of our group has played other games in the past, though many no longer want to play anything but D20 or D&D.

I'll try any game once. We used to play mostly Storyteller but 3ed brought us back to D&D. We normally only have one game going at a time, so when we burn out we switch to another game for awhile.

Right now I am in 2 dnd games. I was in a d20 WW2 era game a few months back, which was fun. I want to try other systems, but I really like the d20 system

We used to play everything, from sprawling Champions slugfests to very successful and long-running Storyteller chronicles.

Until August 2000.

3e brought us back to the D&D table after nearly a decade, and since our return we've been fairly monogamous to the system.

To be fair we did take a stab at Fading Suns and Mage: Revised, but the games broke down quickly. In both cases, perceived inconsistencies in the game systems started to bother us.

Essentially, we appreciate the 'auto-pilot' aspects of 3e which enable us to play the game without leaving everything up to GM fiat. No other system that we've tried allows that---they all seem stuck in the 90's 'storyteller' mode while we want a 'pure game'. I don't know if I'm expressing it right, but it's late and I'm not too bright.
